NIT Sikkim offers four programmes i.e., BTech, MTech, MSc and PhD at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. Admission to all of the aforementioned courses is entrance-based. In order to secure their seat at the institute, students must fulfil the eligibility and selection criteria for the desired programme. The institute accepts national-level entrance tests followed by counselling through the concerned authority for seat allotment. NIT Sikkim does not offer direct admissions for any of its courses. Admission are purely entrance based followed by counselling process for seat allocations. Admission to the BTech and MTech programmes are based on scores in JEE Main and GATE respectively. For NIT Sikkim MSc admission, students have to clear IIT JAM and register for CCMN counselling. Similar to these UG and PG courses, PhD admission at NIT Sikkim is also entrance and interview-based.
