Students of NMKRV become industry-ready or sheep in the herd, competing to get a degree certificate.
Placements: I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from NMKRV College For Women in the year 2022. There was a job drive that happened back then, the first round of interviews was conducted with KPMG and JP MORGAN, and a few candidates cleared the first round of the interview. However, there was no communication that happened for the next steps, and the whole process was a waste of time and energy.
Infrastructure: It does not provide hostel facilities. We do have a library with very limited editions of books on any subject matter. There is no access to electronic devices, including Wi-Fi, which is allowed in college premises. Classrooms hold a strength of 50, but 60 or 65 students are dumped into one room.
Faculty: They are all in a hurry to finish their chapters and nothing more than that. While a few literally mug up topics to feed into our brains, it makes us think that there's little or no knowledge of anything. It does not really make students industry-ready. We graduate here only to get an official degree certificate. Semester exams are easy to clear, and we need to be a teacher's pet in order to score an A+ grade. Regarding the course, with a very basic it should complete the course, and very least can be achieved and nothing more or value-added skills are to be obtained from this kind of education.

Good infrastructure and library
Placements: Accenture was one of the companies to come to our college, and the placement percentage is very good. TCS, also being one of the recruiters this year, conducted an entrance exam. The placement training sessions are also good here; they are helpful.
Infrastructure: Good library and facilities, smart classrooms with Wi-Fi available. We have a lab where we have learnt many programming languages like Maxima, Scilab, and LaTeX. The library has all types of books and a system to conduct research also. There are many books.
Faculty: Teachers on a whole are helpful with any doubts or clarifications. Teachers are knowledgeable with respect to the subject. The quality of teaching is decent. The course curriculum will be relevant if you choose to pursue a master’s in the subject. It is good.
Other: There are good fests and competitions.

Very good faculty members with a good college infrastructure.
Placements: The college has excellent placements with more than 85 % of the students getting placed on-campus. We had a lot of additional courses for our skill improvement. We need to do an internship in the final year which is mandatory. Companies like HDFC Bank, Equitas bank, and many other companies come for recruitments.
Infrastructure: The best infrastructure, nice surroundings with a super campus for campus life is what the college offers. We have a lot of sports activities along with the Library being the best having a lot of books. The computer labs are so good and well maintained. It is one of the best colleges regarding infrastructure.
Faculty: The teachers are very supportive of our studies, and are friendly too. Their teaching methods are the best and innovative as well. The semester exams are conducted by the college management and are a little hard, but can be passed to a level. A lot of assignments need to be submitted on time.
Other: The college is superb in conducting events. The campus has a good crowd. They are supportive of scholarships.

B.A. (Journalism, English/Kannada, Psychology) - Batch of 2023

Once Hailed for Its Greatness, Now Mediocre.
Placements: I pursued a B.A., and the placements were disappointing. While the faculty did their best by sharing resources and contacts, the college itself provided minimal training, putting no effort into ensuring each student found a job matching their skills and passion. Though a handful did secure placements, they were mostly in commerce or entry-level call center positions. I found a job independently; the college offered no assistance.
Infrastructure: Midway through my time here, the college started demolishing various facilities, leading to a chaotic environment. The once serene quadrangle turned into a construction site, causing inconvenience during exams. Library services were average, with a good book collection, but there was no encouragement to utilize these services. It often felt like even the librarians weren't welcoming to students.
Faculty: I must say the faculty was the only positive aspect of this college, they were still not entirely great. Starting with the strong points, the psychology and English departments were always open to students and supported us in any way possible. The journalism department gave us access to the media lab and resources needed to learn practical knowledge, and the faculty themselves were very well-informed about what they were teaching. I had no complaints with the language departments. However, faculty turnover was frequent, occurring almost every other month, and the process of hiring new professors took an unreasonably long time. The English department faced this issue for an extended period and eventually changed their Head of Department (HOD), which proved to be a poor decision. The journalism department, in particular, has been severely understaffed for over a year. I must also note that the journalism department was entirely closed off to students who needed extra support. They showed a lack of understanding and identified only the students they deemed to be performing well, focusing solely on their development. The HOD was also observed to be extremely rude to students on occasion, making us wait outside the department for 1-2 hours straight while waiting for project approvals instead of simply communicating when they would be available. It was understandable that, due to the department being understaffed, the HOD was stretched thin and couldn't always cater to all our needs. However, there was no justification for her to be as rude and partial as she was. I still appreciate their interest in preparing students for the industry, but the way they went about it was simply bad. Despite these issues, the faculty remains a stronghold of this institution.

A prestigious institution making great strides in the educating and empowering women.
Placements: Our college has a dedicated training placement cell "DISHA" that helps conduct workshops, Certificate courses, and lectures to help students prepare for taking up competitive exams and tests. They coordinate with various organisations from diverse fields to encourage students by providing them internship and part-time job opportunities. In our class of about 45 students, some 10 are actively engaged in various such fields.
Infrastructure: Most classes are big enough to accomodate the students comfortably and have multiple windows to allow in natural light that facilitates learning. The current library is huge, with computers for internet access, but rather dimly lit and needs better security. To overcome this issue, a new library is being built that would be closer to the classrooms, better lit, and secure. There are multiple psychology labs that have all equipments needed for any experiments. The media lab is perfect for indoor shooting, complete with an acoustic space, cameras, lights, microphones, a green screen, and anything that one might need for a production. They have a mac system with FCP for editing as well. The canteen has a homely, affordable menu with many dishes. It serves a really good cup of coffee. Each department has a first-aid kit that can be used for emergencies.
Faculty: The Holds are qualified individuals with many publications under their name. They have exceptional teaching skills that truly bring the classes to life. The newly hired freshers at the position of Asst. Prof. do need to work on their teaching methodologies. The curricula for all subjects cover a variety of seminal knowledge and skills needed to land a job in the desired field. There are internal assessments and preparatory questions given to help us revise. The mid-semester exam prepares students for the finals. Besides the majors, students also learn General English and a second language of choice for the first 2 years. And there is a foundational course each semester to equip us with holistic skills. Being an autonomous college, they prepare their own question papers or have external examiners do so. It is the same for evaluation as well. The passing percentage for each subject is 40% in both internals and externals.
Other: Besides all the academics, students are also required to join one of the many extracurricular clubs for the first 2 years. There are so many fests organised in the campus that allow students to showcase their organisational and event management skills. The in-house magazine 'Vartha Vahini' allows journalism students to get hands-on experience of journalistic writing and editing. Psychology professors also provide counselling services to students, which helps them stay on top of their mental health needs. The campus is in the hustling and bustling locality of Jayanagar 3rd block, which makes it very accessible by all means of public transport.

Review of NMKRV College For Women.
Placements: Our college provides more placements in science and commerce batches than arts. They provide basic placement training. The placement training is satisfactory. We are final-year students. We still have not had any interaction with the placement center except for one basic training course, which we completed at the beginning of the 5th semester. We have not been updated regarding placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. It has become a mass of bricks and dust. The library services are not good. They don't allow students to take their materials books, laptops, and pens inside the library. Washrooms are not good. The water facility is not good. Our college canteen is very satisfactory.
Faculty: Our professors are qualified and helpful. The course curriculum is outdated. The curriculum for psychology is outdated. They give reference books from the year 2015 when it is already 2023. Semester exams are satisfactory and moderate.
Other: The working procedure of our college is not good.
