A great place to learn, groom, and build your future.

Placements: Placements are like average in our college, but as compared to the IT branch, core branch students get a lot more offers. Overall, about 70 to 80% of students got placed. The highest salary package offered is around 12 LPA, and the lowest goes to 2.8 LPA. The average salary package offered is around 5 LPA - 6LPA. Companies like TCS, Aditya Birla, Tata Power, Jindal Steel, Spikewell, etc., visit the campus. Students get nice internship opportunities because the alumni network is strongly working in organisations like HAL, DRDO, CSIR, ONGC, etc. Mainly junior engineer trainee roles are more often in our course.

Infrastructure: The college provides free Wi-Fi network throughout the campus area. There are labs also for every branch or every skill to learn. It has its own central library, which is open from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM. The quality of mess food is pretty good as compared to other colleges in Odisha at this price, the quality is very good. SUM Hospital is available just outside the campus. Students from our college get free registration and doctor consultation at SUM Hospital. Talking about sports and games, every year we conduct Arena, which is a grand sports event for every sport.

Faculty: Every faculty member here has a Ph.D. degree from IITs. Faculty members are pretty much friendly as they are very young. This college provides placements talk in 4th every week, in which the college improves the aptitude, reasoning, coding, and overall personality of every student. The exams are not that hard. They are pretty easy to clear, as the questions repeat every year.

Other: I chose electrical engineering because I want to go into software, but in my 12th, I got my eyes on the power system and power distribution, which attracts me a lot, so choosing this branch gives me both the options to explore. The course is pretty vast, as you will study core electrical concepts like KVL, KLC, etc. Talking about events, this college has two to three events per year, like Arena for sports, Exordium for freshers' inauguration, Robomania for robo race, and hackathons. The events include one grand event called Exuberance, where there is a DJ night, celebrity night, ethnic night, etc. The connectivity is also average because the main town is like 10 km from the college, but there are always buses and autos. It has a separate scholarship section where 80% of students get scholarships.

A good government engineering college with a supportive academic environment.

Placements: PMEC had a decent placement record, with approximately 10 LPA as the highest package. TCS, Accenture, Ultratech, Cognizant, BYJU'S, Tata Power, Divami Design Labs, etc. were some of the recruiting companies. Internships were offered by NALCO, HAL, Jindal, etc. Assistant Executive Engineer at the Water Resources Department, State Government of Odisha, was one of the top roles.

Infrastructure: Smart classrooms with Wi-Fi, a central library, and well-maintained labs for all disciplines were available. The hostel environment was quite good and well-maintained, with 3 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels. Food quality was good at the hostel mess and canteen. The campus had a good environment.

Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Exams in this college were very transparent, with a 99% passing rate. It was a good government college for all branches, with a good environment. Students could clear their doubts in extra doubt-clearing classes provided by professors.

Satisfied with the faculty members but dissatisfied with the infrastructure.

Placements: The best thing is that you can expect anything from this college. The placement ratio is not so good, and the average salary package offered is only 3- 4 LPA. The highest is something like 5-6 LPA, and everything is CTC. As per my knowledge maximum seniors are not accepting the job because of the low salary packages and some time limit. They are making it contractual, like they will provide Rs. 20,000- Rs. 30,000, but we have to and must stay with them for 2-3 years, then what is the value of doing B.Tech in Computer Science.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is old, but they renovated it. Also, the college has attached CCTVs everywhere for safety and some other reason. The college is providing Wi-Fi in both the college and hostel. In labs, most things are working, and the computer labs have ACs inside them. But a few computers are not working as they are old now. New computers will be replacing them soon. Do visit our library, as we have a new library built recently.

Faculty: Permanent teachers are well-educated and are well-behaved. But some contractual teachers are not so good. The college has multiple events and clubs, which help to gain real-world experience. Internals are conducted by the college, and the remaining exams are conducted by BPUT. As you know, BPUT prefers to handwriting over answers. So I can tell that if you write something about a point in beautiful handwriting, you can easily pass.

East or West, PMEC is the best.

Placements: In my branch, 50% of students get placed through campus placements. The highest package is 7 LPA, the lowest package is 3 LPA, and the average package is 4 LPA. Top recruiters in my college include Incture, Nivi.ai, Salesmore Technology, and others. The top role offered is Software Developer.

Infrastructure: My college provides clean classrooms and labs for practical sessions. The infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The library is very good, with a separate building where all the required books are available. The hostel is good, and the food quality is also good.

Faculty: My faculty is highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful towards students. Their teaching quality is outstanding. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students job-ready for the industry. The semester exams are easy if you attend all the classes and prepare accordingly. The passing requirement is 4 CGPA.

Other: I am strongly interested in the fastest-growing technology field. It is an unstoppable field, and I learn new things every day. If you choose this field, continuous learning is needed. That's why adding new subjects on emerging technologies and more projects is helpful for the students. Events and fests are held every year during February and March. Games and prize distribution are also organized, which encourage students. The college provides JWS scholarships, more private scholarships for students, and state scholarships for everyone.

It is about the college area and campus tour.

Placements: I am a final year student. Placement is quite good, but the salary is very low, which creates problems in the future. However, if you get placed through campus placements, your life may change in the future, but career choices should be made very carefully when selecting an industrial sector.

Infrastructure: The hostels were quite good, but facilities were not much better. I expected good facilities, but they were in worst condition. So, before choosing the hostel, students must be aware of the rules and regulations and check everything properly.

Faculty: Faculty members were good, but some faculty members were always ready to give backlogs. In this institution, internal backlogs were very common. They did not seem to focus on improving students’ futures and gave very low marks in internal exams.

Other: The campus is located in a good area. But there is nothing available in the surroundings during emergencies because the college does not provide any emergency facilities. It is very concerning and dangerous when an emergency happens.

Great faculty members, but poor system.

Placements: Minimum 60 to 70% of the students get placed in my college, but the companies in which they get placed are not that good, and they don't provide a very healthy package, but to get placed anyhow. The companies are not the top companies, and the college doesn't provide any kind of internship opportunities at all. Last year, the highest package was around 6 to 7 LPA.

Infrastructure: Last year, the college installed Wi-Fi across the campus, which was a good thing that happened since we joined. The labs are well-equipped as a CSE student. They teach very well. Libraries are very great, most of the books are present there, and it provides a peaceful environment to study.

Faculty: As our college is not yet a university, we come under BPUT University. The syllabus is ofcourse outdated, but at the end, they provide a good project structure to get industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult if a students studying a week before the exam, they can get 8.5 above the GPA. The faculty members of my branch are the best, friendliest, and most understanding.

Other: I can say nothing about my batch students, they are egoistic and very self-centered, yet I have a lot of friends. The events occurs in college are okay. I think they should make the events look more grand and just don't make the event very rule-based.

Yes, there is a chance that you can get admission in CSE branch in PMEC. 83 is a good percentile. Usually cut off is around 75-80 percentile. And if not CSE branch than you can definitely get other branches.

You must increase your JEE Mains percentage because 78 percentile is not sufficient to get CSE branch. So, You have to increase your percentage and 12th marks are not considered.
