The quality of food at Priyadarshini Institute of Technology and Management (PITM) hostel mess in Guntur has been a burning issue among students. While most of the students are enjoying the luxury of bed and fans in the rooms, the food is questionable. Students usually complain that the menu is not varied and that they suspect the taste and nutritional value of the food could be improved. Besides that, the absence of a good registration system for hostel stay may be an issue for some. On the brighter side, however, the college canteen does serve a variety of South Indian foods and snacks at subsidized rates, which are consumed by many students more than hostel mess food. Overall, however, the hostel mess does serve the bare minimum, there certainly is scope for improvement in the variety and quality of foods served.
