B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2024

Overall, college is the best for studies.
Placements: In my batch, approximately 45 students got selected in various companies like Spectrum, TCS, and Infosys out of 60 students. All professors are helping with the job-oriented company selection and motivating the future job seekers. And off-campus placement is also available.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is best infrastructure, and a Wi-Fi network is provided, and all labs are very conveniently used. The classrooms have the best infrastructure and development services, and the library is open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. An AC facility is also available, and a comfortable sheet is available.
Faculty: All teachers and professional career professors help all students in college and professional career motivate all the time, sports curriculum activities are doing well, and also HOD sir is very helpful, but the principal takes strict action against ragging.
Other: I selected Mechanical Engineering because more opportunities in this branch. I have learned about automation and the automobile sector.

B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2026

If anyone belongs to a poor family, then I recommend joining this college.
Placements: Placement is very poor. As usual, third-party companies come. The average package is 2 LPA. First, they give training for 6 months, and then placement is provided by companies like Q Spider. The training and placement cell of my college is not active, and the HOD is also not active. .
Infrastructure: The college building is too small and does not have sufficient rooms for classes. Wi-Fi is average. There is no canteen. The library is running in the canteen because the canteen is not available. The library does not have proper chairs and tables for study. There is no proper AC working.
Faculty: Faculty came through the BPSC exam. They do not have experience. It depends on the faculty, and many students fail in semester exams. They never complete the syllabus and do not deliver proper knowledge. I used to take help from YouTube. Professors are only there to fulfill college requirements.
Other: At low cost, they give a technical degree.

The best value for money college.
Placements: Average placement of around 40-50% students. Fewer companies visit here. Average placement (5-6 LPA), and the top offers are of 8-9 LPA. You have to maintain a good CGPA to get a high package placement. Students who don't get placement opportunities may prepare for GATE or other government exams.
Infrastructure: If you join PCE, you get a functional and decent infrastructure, proper labs, classrooms, a library/computer labs, a hostel with basic amenities, and campus sports/gym. Enough to support your engineering studies and college life. You have good facilities that help you with every problem, from college problems to personal problems. They deal with that.
Faculty: PCE Purnea has decent faculty with mostly young, qualified teachers, though teaching quality can vary between departments. The curriculum follows BEU's structure, so it's standard and covers all core engineering subjects with regular labs. Exams are semester-based and a bit strict but manageable with consistent study. Overall, academics are solid for a growing government college.
Other: The campus population is fairly active. People come from different parts of Bihar, so there's a modest but diverse student body, which helps in making friends and interacting across branches.

Good college for studying but you need to give your own efforts.
Placements: Here only approx. 20-30% of students got placements. The average package is approximately 5 LPA, with the highest being approximately 8 LPA. Recruiting companies are Infosys, TCS, etc. Almost all students got internships in different companies. Practical labs are very well here but lab assistant is not very good.
Infrastructure: The facilities here are all well-equipped; wifi is available on all campuses; the classrooms are adequate; and the library is well-maintained. An area for playing games is there. Hostel has good wifi available but little hygiene problem in the mess. No canteen is available.
Faculty: The majority of teachers have IITs or NITs credentials and extensive teaching experience. No, you need to give your own effort in internship placement and project. Semester exams are moderate, not very tough nor very easy; you need to study at least 1 month for semester exams.
Other: I chose ECE ( electronic and communication engineering) because I love to play with circuit. Visualization needs to improve. Sport activity is happening.

Honest review for the freshers.
Placements: Generally, the placement ratio is good in CS and ECE branches, but placements in the EEE branch is quite good. The average package in an electrical branch is about 3.5 LPA. The recruiting companies are generally startup companies. The roles offered by these companies are generally salesman-type.
Infrastructure: The campus of this college is not as expected. This college has small campus. Those students who want a big campus shouldn't take admission here. The infrastructure of this is not as expected because there are 2 boys hostels, one girl's hostel and one academic block. And also small library and gym.
Faculty: The faculty of this college is qualified. All the faculty of this college is GATE qualified and knowledgeable but only a few faculty have not so good knowledge. The relationship between the teacher and student is friendly. The semester exam is conducted by the Bihar Engineering University and the question level of the examination is good.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be an engineer. Only festival are held in this college ( like Holi, Saraswati Puja, etc. ). And events like freshers and teachers day .

Purnea College of Engineering - An Honest Review
Placements: Placement of the college is quite decent because the fee structure is too low, so the placement is good as per the fee structure, and several small companies from West Bengal come to our college and offer average packages of 3.5 lakhs per annum. Five out of ten students get placed easily.
Infrastructure: My course is actually good in this college, and the course curriculum is decent, as there are good classrooms, labs, and a decent library. Labs are well-equipped, the hostel is good, and the facilities in the hostel are good. Mess food is quite decent here.
Faculty: There are enough faculty members in our college for every branch, and the student-to-faculty ratio is also very good. However, the quality of teaching of these faculty members is not that good. Some faculty members are good, while some are not that good. Semester exams in our college are good and slightly more difficult compared to average engineering college examinations.
Other: This is basically a tier 3 college with the least fees but also good facilities as per fees, and the college is at the center of the city, so it’s a good thing.
