RGITBT MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2024

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of IT and Biotechnology (RGITBT) is a constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University), Pune. The institute offers an MSc in three specialisations. RGITBT MSc courses include an MSc in Biotechnology, an MSc in Medical Biotechnology, and an MSc in Bioinformatics. The duration of these full-time programmes is two years.

Admission to an MSc at RGITBT is provided based on the applicant's merit in BV-MBT, the entrance test conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth for MSc admission. Absolutely satisfied with the college experience and supportive faculty members.

Placements: The placement rate is 75%, with top offers from companies like Infosys and Apelo Consultancy. Packages range from INR 3.5 LPA to 20 LPA, with an average of INR 8 LPA. Around 70% of students secured internships with firms such as IBM, Wipro, and Biocon. Roles offered included Data Scientist, Junior Research Fellowship, and Data Analyst. The placement support is excellent.

Infrastructure: The department is equipped with Wi-Fi, smart classrooms, modern labs, and a well-stocked library. The hostels are clean, with Wi-Fi, decent food in the mess, and an on-call doctor. Sports facilities include basketball, badminton, table tennis, and a gym for student recreation.

Faculty: The faculty is knowledgeable, supportive, and well-qualified. The curriculum is industry-relevant, with practical labs that help build job-ready skills. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, with a pass rate of around 90%, ensuring a fair assessment for most students.

Other: I chose M.Sc. Bioinformatics because it combines Biology and technology. The course is well-rounded, with practical labs and knowledgeable professors. The campus is lively, with great events, good connectivity, and plenty of extracurricular activities.

Very good college in terms of faculty, teaching and infrastructure.

Placements: Many companies from the pharmaceutical industry, food industry, etc., visit the college to conduct placements. If you are qualified in CSIR NET, many job opportunities are available. Overall, the college is good to get a job.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good, and there are different labs for different subjects. The college provides Wi-Fi facility and medical facilities. The college also has a library. The environment on the campus is good. There is no proper canteen facility, but there are a lot of shops around the college where you can get many varieties of food, which also tastes good. The hostel is good. Classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated. The college provides the lift facility.

Faculty: Faculty members are awesome, and all the teachers are helpful and student friendly. All of them are PhD holders. E-learning method is used, and PDFs are given to all students. The college organises industrial visits. Teachers help us with projects, and they are very supportive. They have good knowledge of all the subjects.

Other: The faculty and labs are really good. Practical experiments are done here as they provide training for it. The only bad aspect is that during our final year, the project is to be done in the college only, but I think, we should be given the liberty to do projects from an industry or a hospital.

It is a dignified college with good people.

Placements: The placements offered are quite less. Few people have got placed from the last batch. The teachers guide you well for interviews and help you in cases you need help. The salary offered is not quite high but average. The companies visit campus at times for interviews.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The classrooms are huge and spacious, with proper ventilation. The laboratories have all the required equipment. Wi-Fi is available. There is a different sports room in college for indoor sports activities like chess and table tennis.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified. The quality of teaching is good. Modern methods, along with old traditional methods, are mostly used for teaching. They take us for industry visits once a year. The teachers are always available to help you out with your problems.

Fully enjoyment college apart from study.

Placements: From bioinformatics department, all my classmates have got jobs but not through campus selection. Class timing is not decided. Project teachers are not available. In my subject, there are lots of programming language but due to the worst teachers I didn't improve my skill now in my company programming is very important. Bioinformatics is very interesting subject but in Bharti vidyapeeth you cannot built yourself.

Infrastructure: In RGITBT, all facilities are available just like sports, games, Wi-Fi, computer classroom, Library, laboratory but in Bioinformatics teachers are not Available, all teachers are guest teachers. But some subject teachers are very good and excellent. But I really enjoy my college life in Bharti vidyapeeth very nice climate and other facilities.

Faculty: In bioinformatics, specific subject teachers are not available as all of them are guest faculty. Computer laboratories are very good. But some software or licence software are not available there.

Other: Annual fest organised each year.
