It's a good college for education, but some other facilities should also be given to students.
Placements: Our college does not give any placements after completing the course. Even placements are not at all offered at the end of the course from our college. Some of my friends have gained internships in some companies with their own struggles. About 30%-40% of students got internships from our course.
Infrastructure: There are some average facilities and infrastructure in our course. Wi-Fi facility is available in our geography Honours department and in the entire college. Although we are charged a lab fee each year for admission, we are not yet familiar with the lab. We have not been taken to the lab once yet. Our geography classroom is quite huge and has a seating capacity of 100 students at a time. It is well-lit and airy, and there is a projector in the classroom. Our college library is very good, and there are many books on various subjects. But most of the books on geography are not allowed to take home, and students have to be read them by sitting there.
Faculty: The teachers in the geography department are absolutely very good. They are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They teach in a very friendly manner and help us with every problem. This course curriculum is a little bit relevant. But it does not make students industry-ready, and it's a course of getting a degree. The semester exams are quite difficult and are not much easy to pass. The pass percentage is 60%.
Other: I chose this geography Honours course because I was very interested in studying further in geography after the 12th board exams. I have learnt many unknown things about geography, which helped me to gain vast knowledge. The admission fee for geography Honors in our college is very high. It is about Rs. 10,370, and it is less than half of the admission fee of other colleges. Even we are not given any special facilities. Therefore, the admission fee in our college should be reduced so that students from all levels of economic backgrounds can take admission in this course easily. There must be a canteen in the college, and the college authorities should take some action in this regard. There must be some sports and games facilities in our college so that students can spend their leisure time joyfully.
