Can I start a law practice without a Law degree or become a lawyer?

No, you cannot become a lawyer without a Law degree. You mandatorily need to obtain degrees such as BA/BCom/BSc/BBA LLB or LLB in order to be a lawyer in India. To become a lawyer, one must first complete three-year or five-year LLB from a recognised university and possess degree certificate. Then, they must enrol themselves in local Bar Council of the concerned state and enrolled as an advocate. Within two years of the enrolment, they must appear and clear AIBE in order to be eligible to practise anywhere in India.

The CLAT PG 2026 third merit list is out for admission to the PG-level LLM programme. The fourth merit list will be out on May 2, 2026 (10 PM).
The CLAT UG 2026 third merit list has been published for admission to the five-year Integrated LLB (UG) courses. Students must pay the confirmation fee by Mar 6, 2026, to either Float or Freeze their allotted seats.
The CUET PG exam 2026 will be conducted from Mar 6 to Mar 27, 2026, for admission to several PG courses.
The CUET UG 2026 registration portal is now closed for admission to several UG courses. The CUET exam 2026 will be conducted from May 11 to May 31, 2026.
The XAT 2026 result is out for admission to the MBA/PGDM courses. Students need to log in to the official XAT portal to access and download their scorecard.
The AILET 2026 fourth provisional merit list for admission to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses will be released on May 5, 2026, on the official website.
