Yes, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to BSc, BCA, BCom (Hons), B.Ed, BA (JMC), BHMCT, BBA, BA (Hons), BVoc, BPT, BPO, BOT, BASLP, BSc MLT, MSc, MA, MEd, MPT, MOT and MPO courses. A: 

Aspirants who have completed their graduation with a minimum of 50%-60% aggregate are eligible to apply for MBA programme at GGSIPU. Candidates with a 50% score in graduation can also apply provided the requirement of aggregate is 50% or below. For MBA specialisations requiring 60% or above aggregate, candidates need not get admission with 50%.

Admissions in GGSIPU are done on entrance-basis. The basic eligibility requires the candidates to pass Class 12 or its equivalent exam with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Hence, you can certainly apply for the BBA course even if you have scored less than 60% in your Class 12 boards. However, BBA admissions at GGSIPU are accepted on the basis of valid score obtained in the IPU CET or CUET followed by counselling. Only those who meet the cut-off and satisfy all the parameters will be allocated a seat at GSSIPU for the BBA programme. In case the students are unable to clear the BBA cut-off released by the university, they can pursue the BBA Online courses offered by various other colleges.

  • PhD admissions for winter session is open. The university will conduct the entrance test on Dec 22, 2025.
  • The NEET UG Counselling 2025 has concluded, with the final seat allotment result of the stray vacancy round for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc (Nursing) courses.
  • The CMAT 2026 exam is expected to be held in Jan 2026 for admission to the MBA, PGDM, and MMS courses.
  • The CUET PG 2026 registration process for admission to PG courses is expected to begin in Jan 2026.
  • The CUET UG 2026 registration window is expected to open in the first week of Mar 2026 for admission to UG courses.
  • The NIMCET 2026 application form is anticipated to be available in April 2026 for admission to the MCA course.

GGSIPU does not allow any of the affiliated colleges/institutes/agencies to grant direct admission to BCA courses. Hence, the university is not responsible for any amount deposited or paid by the candidate directly to the affiliated colleges/institutes of GGSIPU. Candidates are also advised to not share their User ID or Username and the login password with anyone for safety purposes.

Q:   How can I apply for B.Ed in IPU?
A: 

Aspirants fulfilling the eligibility requirements can visit the IP University official website to apply. For the respective entrance exam, candidates have to apply separately. The step-by-step IP University application process is further as follows:

  1. Visit the official website of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and click on the 'Admission' tab and further click on 'Online Admission Form'.
  2. Read the instructions carefully, accept the declaration and click on 'Start' to proceed with the registration step of the application process.
  3. Select B.Ed from the programme drop-down menu and register with the candidate's name, email ID and contact number. Further, click on 'CET' courses.
  4. An application sequence number, user ID and password for future logins and a link to the application form is then sent by the university.
  5. In the first stage of the application form, enter personal details, such as name, parents' name, age, nationality, etc. Also, enter the present address information along with the permanent address.

Q:   How good is the BBA at IP University?
A: 

IPU is counted among the good universities in the country. GGSIPU is ranked 1001-1200 by the QS World University Rankings 2024. In the NIRF 2024 ranking, it was ranked 80 under the "University" category. The placement data for the GGSIPU BBA course is not available as of now. The highest and average package offered stood at INR 45 LPA and INR 12 LPA, respectively for IPU Engineering (USCIT) placements 2022. 

Q:   How can I get admission to BBA at IPU?

Candidates need to appear for the IPU CET entrance exam conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for BBA. Further, students must have to follow a seat allotment process via IPU CET Counselling. GGSIPU now also accept CUET-UG scores for admission to this UG course. For admission to BBA course in any of the IPU-affiliated colleges, aspirants must meet the eligibility criteria. Moreover, candidate shall have studied English (core/ elective/ functional) as a mandatory subject in Class 12. For verification purposes, the aspirants also have to present the pass certificate and other documents during form filling and at the time of admission confirmation.

Placements: Early placements show promise, with the first batch of students securing up to 9.5 LPA, and internships are emerging. Reviews rate labs/library highly 8/10 but college life is lower 4/10 due to intensive schedules; AR branches fare better than others. USAR students often score higher than other IPU schools.
Infrastructure: The 18 acre campus features AC classrooms, advanced labs with 3D printers and robotics tools, a multi floor library, sports ground, badminton court and a net zero energy design. Student reviews raise infrastructure 8/10 but note limited college fests and strict attendance.
Faculty: Eligibility requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and admission is based on JEE Main ranks. Good college, but if you want admission in B.Tech then think twice.
Placements: Amazon (2025). The major recruitments are from TCS, Infosys, Amazon, etc., and on-campus placements are not that great. Many of the students don't even get more than 6 LPA. Not every student gets an internship as well. The top roles offered are in software development.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are good, with spacious rooms. The warden is not very strict, the mess food is good, Wi-Fi is not that good, sports facilities are good, and every major sport has separate grounds. Proper coaching is there, labs are a little outdated, and the main canteen has an affordable menu.
Faculty: Teachers are not that great, they don't even bother that syllabus is completed or not only few of them are good. Semester exams are not very difficult. The Curriculum is outdated. Students are not even industry-ready. 40 percent marks are the criteria to pass the exam.
Other: Fest is good, every major event happens in college. Only management needs improvement.

Indraprastha University is affiliated with the lowest fee college.
Placements: Mainly Delhi side students are there in my course who are experts in finance. The highest package is 8 LPA, average package is 4.5 LPA, and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies that come for placements for this course are TCS, Accenture, and IBM. Almost 50% of students get jobs in this course, mainly in the marketing field at the company TCS. All types of jobs are offered like marketing, HR, sales, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities are very good. The outside infrastructure of building is very good. The IPU building is also very good from the inside. All the things have good Wi-Fi connectivity. Labs, library, and all are very well Wi-Fi connected. The food quality is not good. The hostel infrastructure from inside is not at all good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They do conduct different competitions and hackathons for all departments. The teaching method is good. The course curriculum is okay but the management of the college lacks many subjects and options that are provided by the university. Exams are made for all types of students according to the method and type of teaching.
Other: I want to go to the stock market in future for my career, and I found this course very relevant. This college is affiliated with Indraprastha University so I got this course.

VIPS is a good college to pursue MCA. It is a decent choice with many courses available.
Placements: Placements so far are disappointing. I am in my 3rd semester of MCA. There are not many opportunities. Hopefully, it improves in the final semester. The highest package so far is 13 LPA, and not many students get placed. Roles are mainly in Software Development.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available. I don’t think the college offers hostel facilities. Labs are decent at best, but the labs are really good for B.Tech, not for MCA. You get a lot of elective options to choose your preferred subjects. The canteen is small and does not have a lot of options. The library is pretty good, with one library on every floor.
Faculty: Teachers and faculty are good, qualified, and helpful. They provide many events and workshops on different topics. Exams are of average difficulty. You can easily score good marks. The pass percentage is 40%, easily scorable.
Other: VIPS is decent at best. If you cannot get into top colleges, this is a good choice. There are many extracurricular activities and scholarships. The campus crowd is great as well.

Placements: Nice placement rate at GTBIT. Very good companies like HCL and Tata visit here. College plays an important role in students’ life. The placement opportunities help the students to reach heights in society. IEEE also helps in providing internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful infrastructure and learning environment. The campus is comparatively small, but it is designed very nicely. The hostel is not there in GTBIT. Infrastructure also plays an important role in student life. It has a playground for students.

Infrastructure is good, syllabus is updated, and focused on practical learning.
Placements: Placements are average. The package is around 8 LPA - 10 LPA in AI-ML and AIDS courses. The highest package is 28 LPA in IIOT, but average of IIOT is less. But still as compared to the rank in JEE at which it is available is value for money. 80-85% of students are placed. Companies like TCS and GoDaddy are recruiters.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is up to date, labs are updated, computer labs have i7-10generation processors, internet speed is 1000 MBPS, and connected using ethernet. The campus is fully air-conditioned. Auditorium is good. Campus size is not very large but it's satisfactory.
Faculty: Faculty is variable. Some are really good and some are not, but the courses which actually help in getting us placed in a company. We have good faculty, and they teach good. They focus more on practical learning than traditional theory things. Overall, it is satisfactory.

IPU Admission 2026 FAQs

Q:   How do the people in Delhi view GGSIPU and other affiliated colleges?
A: 

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University or GGSIPU is a recognised university. The university offers more than 100 courses at UG, PG and PhD courses. As per the information and views available on web, students who do not get into the finest colleges have GGSIPU as one of the options. The university has more than 100 affiliated colleges in Delhi/ NCR. IPU is a state university and hold value all across the world. 

Q:   What will happen if I fail in internal exam in GGSIPU?
A: 

GGSIPU has given weightage to both theory and practical UG and PG courses. Students need to secure a minimum of 75% in semester theory exam for UG courses and 60% for PG programmes. For practical, students need to secure a minimum of 60%. A student must pass both theory and practical examination to pass the semester. Students who fail the internal exam are required to re-appear in the previous semester examination to obtain sufficient credits to be promoted to the next academic year.

Q:   What is the IPU CUET counselling process?
A: 

A notification regarding the counselling process through CUET is released when vacant seats are left after all rounds of counselling. Based on details mentioned in the IPU brochure, the IPU CUET counselling procedure could be in the following manner: 

STEP 1: Counselling Registeration

Candidates have to register (could be online/offline) for counselling. Details such as the aspirant name, programme code and other details have to be provided during registration. The registration fee is INR 1,500.

STEP 2: Login & Enrol

Login with the ID and password generated during registration to fill out the application. The IPU counselling processing fee is INR 1,000, which has to be paid during the enrolment for participation in the counselling procedure after registration. Fill in the details as asked and take a printout of the form and fee receipt. Document verification is carried out in online mode based on information provided by the candidate during enrolment.

STEP 3: Choice Filling/Preference Sheet

The preference sheet is available on the GGSIPU brochure. For online mode, candidates will have to visit the university's official website. It must be noted that the preference sheet is valid for only one counselling round. Hence, for each round, a new preference sheet must be filled out for each counselling round. 

STEP 4: Seat Allocation

After choice filling, seats are allotted to the candidates based on merit, respective category and region. Candidates can be asked to freeze the seat by paying a sum of fee.

Q:   What is the cutoff for BTech +M.Tech in Information Technology at GGSIPU for other than general categories?
A: 

The 2024 cutoff ranks for BTech +M.Techin Information Technology at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University other than the General category are - 198167 for SC, 346824 for ST and 45444 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut-offs also change a lot depending on the All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

Q:   What is the closing rank for BTech +MTech in ECE at GGSIPU?

GGSIPU administers students for BTech + MTech in ECE based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam.
