Indian Writing in English are notable literary works in English language written by authors who are of Indian origin. It began during the colonial period of India when English as a language was introduced to India. It has a unique style of writing. These writings though written in English have Indian influence, especially influence of regional and colloquial lqnguages. Mulk Raj Anand is known as the father of Indian English Literature. There are several higher study options for meritorious graduates in English language and literature, such as journalism and mass communication; management; tourism administration; law; international relations; linguistics; communication management; film editing and direction; visual communication; and library and information science and forms of creative arts like drama and cinema. You can explore the option of doing some specialised post graduate courses for which graduation is needed in the field of media, multimedia, public relations, foreign languages, teaching, social work, finance, retail, design, hospitality, stocks, aviation etc. based on your interests and strengths. If you have a flair for writing, have good communication skills and a reading habit, journalism or mass communication is a good choice.
