SDM Institute of Technology Admissions 2026: Eligibility, Fees, Scholarships

The BE/BTech course offered at SDM Institute of Technology is a four-year long course. The course is divided into eight semesters. Candidates can take admission by entrance-based and management quota students are admitted through merit.

KCET 2026 registrations are open and candidates can submit their applications till Feb 17, 2026. The exam is scheduled for Apr23, 2026 and Apr24, 2026. The COMEDK UGET 2026 exam will be conducted on May 9, 2026. Either of these exams are required to take admission in SDM- Institute of Technology.

The non- Karnataka students may apply to the BTech courses at SDM- Institute of Technology by submitting a valid COMEDK score and apply for admission through COMEDK counselling procedure.

The candidate should have passed class 12 with physics, mathematics as compulsory subjects and chemistry/biotechnology/ computer/ electronics/ biology any one as an optional subject with 45% aggregate marks for general category students and 40% aggregate marks for reserved category students.

SDM- Institute of Technology offers BE/BTech in six specialisations such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Civil Engineering.

·       Conduct certificate from the principal of institution last studied

·       Photographs: 4 Passport size and 4 Stamp size

·       Migration certificate for non-Karnataka boards

·       Caste/ Caste Income Certificate issued by concerned tahsildar for SC/ST in Form-D, Category-I in form E and 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in Form F9 (if claiming reservation benefits)

·       Rural Study certificate from class 1 to class 10 for 10 complete years (if claiming rural quota)

·       Kannada Medium study certificate from class 1 to class 10 for 10 complete years (if claiming Kannada medium quota)

• Candidate's Study certificate:

·       Candidate having studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions located in the State of Karnataka for a minimum period of 7academic years commencing from class 1 to class 12 as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held and must have appeared and passed either class 10

·       A study certificate for either of the parent having studied for at least 7 years in Karnataka from the Head of the educational institution where he / she had studied and the candidate's study certificate for having studied both class 11 and class 1 in Karnataka issued by the head of the educational institution (if applicable).

The study certificate document is a proof that the candidate having studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognised educational institutions. The institute should be located in the State of Karnataka and student should have studied for a minimum period of 7 academic years commencing from class 1 to class 12 as on 1st July of the year in which the Entrance Test is held. They must have appeared and passed either class 10.

Candidates need to have minimum 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ ST/ OBCs of Karnataka) taken together in all the subjects of the final year of Diploma in engineering to be eligible for admission through lateral entry at SDM Institute of Technology. Admission is granted through Common Entrance Test (DCET) conducted by the K-CET Cell. Seats are allotted by K-CET Cell through a centralised counseling process.
