B.Com (Hons.) Finance & Accounting - Batch of 2023

It is a heritage college under the university of Calcutta.
Placements: I'm from the 2023 batch, and the package offered was 5-8 LPA, and I got a package of 7.994 in graduation. After completing your degree, your department will add you to the group where you'll get a lot of information related to jobs and faculty.
Infrastructure: In our college, water was available 24/7, and the food was delicious and hygienically maintained. Rooms were cleaned every morning, and a mess facility was available near the college. Girls' safety was available, and everything you'll get under one roof. The roommates and hostel supervisors also friendly.
Faculty: The teachers are the best and provide excellent guidance, and the seniors are too helpful. The office and finance department help with difficulties. The teachers were helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable. Their guidance helped me to do my projects so well. Semester exams were a little bit hard, but manageable. In the last years, the passing percentage was 60%. Sudipta sir, who was our HOD in 1st year, taught us many things. Thank you.
Other: A perfect discipline and enjoyable experience.

The college campus is wonderful.
Placements: College doesn't promise placements but they will send you for an internship as I know. Economics department is the one of best departments in the college, you can go for it. You will be happy to read the subject with the faculty members and do a survey.
Infrastructure: There are two classrooms for economics. Rooms are fine looking and are air-conditioned so there will be no problem in summer. The view from the balcony of the department is really good. Well, I am not a hosteller but some of my classmates stay by renting rooms in the college area.
Faculty: Faculty members are well-educated and teach really well. They are tough during the internal (or, tutorial) but if you can answer they really mark good. The passing percentage is 30%. Each paper has (internal, external, compulsory papers, etc.) It is under the Calcutta University.

It is a good college if students are trying to get into the bachelor's course and enjoy college life
Placements: I suggest students do not expect any kind of placement through this college. The placement cell is dead and the last time they posted about recruitment was 3-4 years ago. We will have to find a job on our own merit. Most students who come here are here to pursue and tally time for future studies. It is for our undergraduate experience, so do not expect any placement or recruitment. However, our department teachers and HODs are going to help us in the sector to get internships and jobs in good companies where they are connected.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. We will find different buildings for each subject course, departmental libraries, and a central library with a vast collection of books. Playground, canteen, care library, care museum based on founder, auditorium, E-class, church, etc., are also available here.
Faculty: The course curriculum is under Calcutta University and it is one of the best places for it. Teachers are good and dedicated to teaching us if we are ready. Teachers will do their best to teach and remaining, it is on us. They mostly taught in English-Bengal languages. Notes are given to us by our teachers with lab sessions and resources for everything.
Other: We will always find seminars and events taking place almost. The office works slowly but they are helpful. The vibe here is pure aesthetic. We will find students sitting in the central library and enjoying with students of other nationalities from the theology department. We can often find visitors too to interact.

A fully satisfied five year period of seminary.
Placements: At least 60% of the students were placed into various areas of the church and other Christian organisations. The package I was offered included a scholarship. Students were placed into different roles in different churches. Following this, many got into the field of social work, continuing their work in different states of India.
Infrastructure: The college has rich facilities and infrastructure available for the course. WiFi is available in the library. The hostel facility is also good, with clean rooms. The mess and canteen provide healthy food. There is a separate society for sports and games. Overall, the quality is very good.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. They all come from various Christian denominations. Some church bishops are also teachers here. There are also many visiting lecturers. Overall, the teaching quality is above average. The course curriculum is relevant for anyone who decides to pursue a career related to Christian ministry, as it provides an overall exposure to the student industry. The semester exams are mostly subjective and thus difficult, as detailed and reflective answers are expected by the evaluator. At least forty percent has to be secured for a pass.
Other: I chose this course due to my deep passion for Christian ministry and service. The best thing is that this course trains the overall elements that are required by a Christian worker. It has psychology, sociology, history and language along with theological subjects. I would wish to see an improvement in the manner in which the subjects are arranged in all four to five years, as some of the subjects are not further looked upon and thus are completely erased from memory in the long run.

It is a great and most probably the best college for science students ❤️
Placements: More than 40% of the students are well established after their B.Sc course, and after the M.Sc more than 80% of students are well settled. Salary packages depend upon their work field. They earn between Rs. 25,000 (suppose in the teaching field) to more than 10 LPA (researchers). Top recruiters are government, medical and pharmaceutical industry, teaching, and ed-tech companies. No students got direct internships from college. Top roles are teaching, medical representative, and industries related to medicine.
Infrastructure: Labs are awesome and well-maintained. We have the best-in-class infrastructure for teaching and for students also. Free Wi-Fi is available in every department, and classrooms are very well-maintained and air-conditioned. There is a seminar library for each department, and we also have a central library for more books. Library contains a lot of books, numeral documents, and other stuff. There's a hostel facility for PG students but not for UG students. We have great and most importantly cheap cost food available in the college canteen. Great quality foods are available there, and medical facilities are also provided. There are sports clubs for sports and games
Faculty: The best professors are available to teach us. Great and qualified professors take care of our knowledge. The teaching quality is simply great, no doubt. The course curriculum is more relevant and upgraded than most of the colleges, it makes us industry-ready. Semester exams are not easy but due to the great guidance of respected professors, we pass them easily. Last year, the final year semester exam pass percentage was 100%, and all credits go to respected professors.
Other: I chose this college to make myself more competent, to make a difference, and change the society in a positive manner. I believe great and humble teachers make it the best college. The political influence makes some bad experiences, without this, everything is just good enough for me and for other students. A lot of events and college fests are done by the college, and connection made us more competent. The campus surroundings are very good, and scholarships are provided by the government of Rs. 12000 per year (college course fee is around Rs. 6000), a lot of extracurricular activities are done in the college.

Serampore College - the core of heritage.
Placements: Since it's a bachelor's degree, any direct placements are not provided by the college. However, the department organises seminars and webinars in collaboration with other departments that turn out quite insightful and provide good exposure to students.
Infrastructure: The department has three lecture halls (one AC and the other non-AC). Apart from the college library, the department has its own library, which is quite useful for the regular use of students. Wi-Fi is also available. Hostel accommodation is provided to students only from the Department of Theology.
Faculty: Professors of the department are the best. They are highly qualified, experienced, and friendly. The college is affiliated to the University of Calcutta, which sets the papers. Being a student of the last CBCS batch, I would say the course curriculum is very relevant and covers most of the required portions for any postgraduate programs and NET. Papers set by the university are predictable yet demand good enough preparation. The pass percentage is 30%.
