The college campus is wonderful.

Placements: College doesn't promise placements but they will send you for an internship as I know. Economics department is the one of best departments in the college, you can go for it. You will be happy to read the subject with the faculty members and do a survey.

Infrastructure: There are two classrooms for economics. Rooms are fine looking and are air-conditioned so there will be no problem in summer. The view from the balcony of the department is really good. Well, I am not a hosteller but some of my classmates stay by renting rooms in the college area.

Faculty: Faculty members are well-educated and teach really well. They are tough during the internal (or, tutorial) but if you can answer they really mark good. The passing percentage is 30%. Each paper has (internal, external, compulsory papers, etc.) It is under the Calcutta University.

The college campus and the atmosphere are very good.

Placements: As I am studying, I don't have much knowledge about placements, but I can tell that around 23-24% of students were placed, and the average package offered in my course is 7-8 LPA. Many say that the college doesn't have placements, but many students get internships if they perform well.

Infrastructure: In our lecture room, we have AC and projectors, which many of the other departments don't have, and our library is very useful for learning about any subject. The library has 12,000+ books. As I am a day scholar, I don't know much about the hostel, but some of my classmates are hostellers, and according to them, the hostel is good for living.

Faculty: Our professors are very helpful, and their knowledge is superior. The professors teach very well, and their guidance about our exams is really helpful. As I am a student in Semester-1, I don't have experience with semester exams. The teaching process of our faculty members is very engaging.

Other: Our seniors are really helpful. The campus of our college is large, providing ample space. The college fests are amazing, and according to the history of our college, the union prepares every event very neatly, although I don't have the experience yet as I am a student in Semester-1.

Overall, placements are not very good, but campus life is satisfying, and exams are quite tough.

Placements: Serampore College offers decent academic preparation for the Economics major, but direct on-campus placements are quite limited. The average package of my course is 1.5 to 2.5 LPA, I guess. I do not know why, but there is a really low rate of on-campus placement every year. Maybe due to some problems, I am not sure, but some issues were going on for a few years, so that might be the reason. However, it is expected that placements will start again from this year, according to what I have heard. Still, I would say there is very little scope for on-campus placement.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty average. There is free Wi-Fi, but it is not always available. Labs are pretty good, and so are the classrooms. Each faculty member has their own classroom according to their department. The library is also good, but not very large. The canteen is good, and the food quality is decent, according to the price. Other facilities are also available, but not too many. The hostels are pretty good. Overall, the campus environment is very good, which is the best part.

Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and friendly, though it depends on the faculty. Their teaching quality is good and helpful. However, there are irregular classes. The semester exams are quite disorganized, with frequent exam notices given suddenly without a proper gap, which makes it stressful for students. The passing marks are around 23%. You always have to be prepared for exams.

Other: I was interested in Economics, so I chose this course. I also wanted to study in a good college near my home. The campus life of this college is very good, and students can enjoy it.
