The qualifying examination must be of the same quality as Karnataka's Pre-University level. Optional subjects Computer Science or Biology can be attempted in case of poor marks in Chemistry.

But even for management quota, the candidate must have already appeared for KEA, COMED-K, JEE Main, or any other entrance exam. Eligibility is based on class 12 with Science core subjects and a minimum percentage. It has a limited number of seats and as per institutional norms.
