The college is very good with good infrastructure and patient outflow.
Placements: The percentage of placement is 95+%.
All who got government jobs under NHM or others went for PG courses.
The percentage of internships is 100; it's done under the state government, and we got a stipend for it also, around 35k, which is the highest in India for MBBS students.
PG Radiology is the top role offered.
Infrastructure: Yes, we get good infrastructure with a good library in our college.
Yes, the hostel is also good with good food. We have our personal ground also where every student can play.
In our college, there are other courses too, like B.Pharma, B.Sc. Nursing, etc. So you can choose SMCH for that also.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful.
The exams are not so much difficult. The pass percentage of last year is 99%.
There is huge patient outflow in Silchar Medical College.
Yes, the curriculum is prepared by the University Srikanta Sankardev Health University, and it makes students hospital-ready.
Other: I want to become a doctor, so I chose this course.

Overall, it will provide you the good knowledge for being a doctor.
Placements: All students will get an internship and are paid, as it is a government medical college so fees are provided. Total years you have to devote for this course; after that, one year of internship and one rural posting, you have to give the exam for further PG courses.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is nice; the campus of the college is now newly renovated and all the facilities are there. Hostels are provided to the students at a low cost and food is also provided in the hostel. The classroom contains projectors for a better teaching experience .
Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable and punctual. They will guide you nicely and will help the students be successful in their lives. You have to score above 50 percent to pass the exam; otherwise, you have to repeat the year.
Other: College Fest and many other functions are celebrated nicely on campus.

The college is quite great and located in a peaceful town of Silchar.
Placements: Maximum students are posted in our course and the majority of the students (almost all) get the chance for an internship. Top posts are offered based on merit but even lower posts are highly paying and very respectable. Everyone gets satisfaction; just hard work and sacrifice are needed.
Infrastructure: Enough equipment is available for the treatment of patients, which is great for the experience of aspiring medical students. There were enough patients for the experience during the internship. Hostel life is quite busy with the organization of various events like cricket tournaments, football tournament and college week events.
Faculty: The faculty here is quite helpful to the students. They guide the students in a great way for an aspiring future. The students are made ready for the ever-demanding medical field. The semester here is quite difficult but it is made easier with the help of the professors. The pass percentage always stays above 95 percent.

Placements: In this medical college, there is 100 percent placement for all students; after completing the degree, there is a paid internship where a handsome stipend of INR 32,000 is provided; plus, after MBBS, there is an absolute job for all students; and after the internship, there is also a rural posting, which gives you a decent salary for the time being.
Infrastructure: There is a lecture hall equipped with AC, a field for sports, and a separate library for UGs and PGs. There is great food and snacks available in the canteen, and there are regular events in the college for various occasions such as sports, culture, literature, and quizzes too.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, and the courses require constant studying for better performance, but the overall outcome of the course is well appreciated. The syllabus is a bit lengthy for average students, and the practical part is where the real test of our knowledge is tested.

Our college is very good with good patient flow.
Placements: The salary packages are good. Almost 99% of students got internships. They are working in different places.
Infrastructure: Our college has an air-conditioned lecture theater and a library. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. Hostels have double-sharing rooms. They have a mess facility. The campus has a sports area and a large playground.
Faculty: Faculty members are great. They are doctorates. They are highly knowledgeable. Semester exams are difficult. Many students pass exams.
Other: Our college offers great scope. It offers courses, like pharmacy, nursing, etc. MBBS is a very good profession.

I am satisfied with our college education, placements, and hostel.
Placements: MBBS graduates got 1 year of internships in the same college itself. The government provides a stipend of Rs. 30,000 per month. Students should pass the final year of MBBS to get internships in the college itself. Companies won't visit our college.
Infrastructure: Our college provides sufficient facilities like labs, air-conditioned classrooms, a library, 24X7 medical facilities, sports, games, and a gym. The quality of the food is good.
Faculty: Teachers are always available to students. They are very well-qualified in their fields. Semester exams are a bit difficult. The pass percentage is above 70%. This course makes students ready to serve the community anywhere in the country.

Silchar Medical College And Hospital is a complete package of knowledge and fun.
Placements: Every student after passing the Final Professional Exam Part-II is made to do the Compulsory Rotatory Internship as a PRCA in the institute itself with the stipend of Rs. 31,500 per month. After which the bond of a year of service in the National Health Mission has to be done in the PHCs of the state with the designation of a medical officer with a salary of Rs. 35,000 per month. After this, the doctor can practice anywhere in the country as a Registered Medical Practitioner in private or government setups. The doctor can also apply for jobs abroad.
Infrastructure: The college is equipped with all the modern facilities. It has a physiology, pathology, and microbiology laboratories. The microbiology laboratory is NABCL Accredited. The anatomy department has an embambling room and a dissection hall. The radiology department is equipped with X-ray, USG, Doppler, CT scan and MRI. The cardiology department has a general ward, ICU, ECG and echocardiography facilities with a cardiac catheterisation laboratory. A new 40 bedded ICU is inaugurated recently. There are separate operation theatres of every surgical department. A lecture theatre complex with four lecture halls and modern auditorium is also available. There is a separate basic science building with two additional lecture halls. The college is Wi-Fi connected. The central library has a large volume of medical and non-medical books. The college also has access to a large number of national and international journals and resources. It has a registered literary club who are also working on setting up the first college radio station. Besides these, there are a number of extracurricular groups such as Rotaract club of SMCH and many others. There are two UG boys hostels, three girls hostels and two PG hostels. The quality of the food served is good. A canteen which serves the fresh quality of foods and beverages is also here. Medical facilities are free for students studying here. A field fondly called Oval provides a platform for outdoor sports along with various indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are excellent in their respective fields. They are renowned in the local, national and international medical fraternity. They impart their valuable knowledge through a wide variety of techniques such as case discussions, seminars and presentations. Apart from the academics, they are at par in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, dance and drama. Teachers are extremely helpful and student-friendly. The course at the end of MBBS makes a student confident enough to face the outer world.
Other: I opted for this course because it was my dream to put a smile on a person's face in distress. The best thing about the course is that it allows us to connect with people and their problems, and helps us to put a smile on their face by treating them both medically and emotionally. This profession gives a sense of satisfaction when you see your patients getting discharged cured and happy with their loved ones. The college does not go round the year with treating patients and academically. The college organises an annual college fest, JDA Night, Republic day, Rabindra Jayanti, Bihu, Sri Sankaradeva Tithi, Saraswati Puja and Independence Day which also happens to be the college's Foundation Day. An annual cricket match named Late Bharti Memorial Cricket Tournament is also organised.

Poor Infrastucture with good faculty
Placements: My batch have total 125 students with around 55 girls and remaining boys. As we are currently at 2nd year , we will complete our MBBS in year 2026. But as per my observation, most of the students after doing MBBS , they start preparing for PG and then most of them get well settled.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of silchar medical is not so good. The classes are good with AC but some departments are there where there is no Fans also.No wifi available at Class. Hostel condition is also very poor with full of garbages . Sports and games are good with a big playground. Food of mess is also upto the mark.
Faculty: Yes , teachers are very helpful and qualified and with full of experience. Yes , this curriculum is very helpful for all the medical students to get ready to become a good doctor. It is very easy if you study to pass the semester exams otherwise it is very tough.
Other: After doing MBBS , your life will be well settled. Events and Fests are conducted regularly. You can participate at many sports and games and cultural like dancing singing etc.

Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained mentioned percentage taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. In respect of PwBD candidates as per NMC and DCI Regulations, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for the ‘National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test’. However, this has been a subject matter of challenge before the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi, Hon’ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench, and Hon’ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur.
