Though the infrastructure is not that good and developed, the environment is quite good for students

Placements: Not every student referred to this course. While it offered excellent opportunities, they were somewhat limited. The top recruiters were primarily from the oil and gas sector, including major companies like IOCL, OIL INDIA, ONGC, BPCL, and more, providing specialized career paths.

Infrastructure: I was not a hosteller, so I couldn't share personal experiences about the hostel, but my friends often complained about the food quality. As for labs, they were decent and well-equipped with the necessary resources. We also had Wi-Fi access, though its usage was restricted

Faculty: Teachers were well-qualified and knowledgeable. Although we struggled to understand some of their teaching, it was more about our difficulty in grasping the concepts rather than their expertise. They were undoubtedly masters in their respective domains.

Other: I had always been fascinated by computers and the Internet, which fueled my desire to learn more. However, one area that needed improvement was the computer lab. The syllabus was outdated and should have been updated with modern technologies to keep up with industry trends.

Silchar Polytechnic College is really a good institute for engineering.

Placements: The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering course at Silchar Polytechnic is a three-year diploma program that focuses on the fundamentals of electronics, communication systems, digital circuits, and microprocessors. It combines classroom learning with practical lab sessions and project work to build technical and problem-solving skills. The course prepares students for careers in telecom, electronics, and the IT sectors. With supportive faculty and essential lab facilities, etc., programs equip students for both industry roles and further studies.

Infrastructure: Our institute has free Wi-Fi and smart classrooms. The food quality of the hostel is good. I can't tell students about it because I don't live in the hostel. Our college also has medical facilities for students and staff members.

Faculty: Faculty members of Silchar Polytechnic are good. They are generally well-regarded for their dedication and support towards student development. Most lecturers and professors have strong academic backgrounds and industry-relevant knowledge, which they incorporate effectively into their teaching.

Candidate must passed H.S.L.C./ 10th or equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject in a single sitting (without grace marks in Science and Mathematics) and also have to pass individually in both theory and practical/ Internal Assessment with minimum 40% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for General/OBC/ MOBC candidates, 35% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates and 33% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for ST Candidates, from a recognized Institute/ board. Candidate must register in www.dte.assam.gov.in for admission offered by SCTE. The Maximum age limit for UR/OBC/MOBC is 20 years 6 months as on 31-12-2024, for SC/ST, maximum age limit is 23 years 6 months as on 31-12-2024 and for PH/PwD, maximum age limit is 25 years 6 months as on on 31-12-2024. NOTE: No compartmental candidate will be allowed to take admission. For Rank Generation Marks of Four Subjects (Maths, Science, English And Social Science) will be Considered.
