It was a rollercoaster ride.
Placements: Our college doesn't provide placements and pushes students to find their opportunity areas. Many students got amazing offers and fulfilling experience opportunities in big companies like Bosch to a lot of startups like Vaidyuthi. They go into different sectors of branding, coding, developing, making, and designing.
Infrastructure: We have a lot of labs, especially for product designers with different machinery and equipment to learn and experience different skill sets. They also have other kinds of labs for shooting, printing, modeling, etc. We also have Wi-Fi available throughout the campus to access and a library with relevant books for the courses. We have a lot of different kinds of canteens accessible to all spread throughout the campus in walking distance.
Faculty: The faculty members are very open to interacting and answering your questions, even those who are not part of your class. They don't hesitate to share material and knowledge and provide constructive criticisms. The student has the freedom to build their curriculum based on their major and minor to their liking, which is helpful in building their portfolio for the industry. The exams are based on their major and test their basic skill levels as well as their creative and logical reasoning for designing.

Review of Srishti Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
Placements: Srishti Institute doesn't provide placements, but it does teach you to be independent and provide ample opportunities to bag one on your own. Most of the people I know from Srishti are working at good places with a good job profile. Although we do get in touch with companies, who come to our college to hire via mails, anyone interested in a particular company can apply and take it from there.
Infrastructure: It doesn't have one single enclosed campus. It's spread across Yelahanka. We have about 5 campuses. Traveling from one campus to another for courses have been fun and exciting, it somehow helped us integrate into the local society well because we stepped out.
Faculty: The free curriculum and courses at our college helped me to explore various aspects of design. Working with people from various fields helps in developing overall design skills, and you're not limited by the mind or skills to work in a different zone. During our four years at Srishti Institute, because of the free-flowing structure, I was able to explore graphics, animation, textile along with product design. It helps you to switch from one field to another, helping to grow as a designer.

You either love it or hate it.
Placements: The college guarantees no placements opportunities to the students. The Srishti expo which is held every year to exhibit the final projects of the graduating students has people visiting from the industry, but opportunities aren't great. I haven't heard of people taking up those offers. The internships are compulsory at the end of the 3rd year, but those aren't great either especially in service and system design as it is something unknown to the world outside Srishti.
Infrastructure: There is no campus life. There is no hostel facility, but there are PGs which the college suggests. Since the college is not answerable to you, there are a lot of complaints and no action. The canteen food is average, and the PGs provide the mess food. Srishti has a small house like building, and most are shared with other institutions, it is located in the dirt. All in all, the campus is not as good as you wish.
Faculty: The faculty is diverse, and they have too much freedom. There is not much structure, so you mostly feel scared about your choices. The student to faculty ratio is good, but they strongly believe in teaching. You have to watch videos to learn. We have architects being forced to teach business design and IT people are teaching space design. Just about everything passes on as acceptable in the name of exploration and design like stuff.
Other: Extracurricular activities are forced to do, and it is highly inconvenient to reach classrooms as courts, and all are not their own. The importance of attendance is high, and grades are slow. You can pass college, all you want to do is show up.

B.Des. in Spatial Design - Batch of 2029

Great option for creative minds but placements require self effort .
Placements: Placements not very structured as many students choose to do freelance starting from the 1st year itself or go for higher education but around 40-50% sit for placements and most of them get good opportunities depending upon what they did throughout and their portfolio. The highest package was 8LPA, average 5LPA and the lowest 3 LPA. Recruiters from various industries like studios, interior design firms and startups. Around 70-80 percent students completed their internships in architecture and interior studios and firms and exhibitions mostly through personal outreach and contacts. Some of the roles offered were set designer, spatial designer, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good and luxurious. It is well-equipped with studios, labs, and many workshops happening from time to time. There is access to stationary shops, printouts and daily necessities along with campus wide Wi-Fi and a big library with AC where you can study till 11pm. Hostel facilities are also good with options for AC, non-AC, attached or common bathroom. There is choice between single occupancy, double, or triple occupancy. Food is decent and hygienic with a weekly menu and special food for festivals. There is 24/7 clinic available. Many sports and games available .
Faculty: The faculty are qualified and experienced especially in practical design practice. Most are very friendly, approachable, supportive to students though teaching quality depends upon faculty and course but overall teachers are supportive and help students in their own ventures like businesses. The curriculum for Spatial Design is quite relevant and focuses on practical training, projects and critical thinking and application than theory. Becoming industry ready depends on each individual portfolio. Semester evaluation are theory but mostly project and jury based. Exams are manageable as long as you are consistent and will easily pass as long as you don't exceed deadline.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in how space shape experiences and the best part in my opinion is the creative freedom it allows and the hands on learning that is missing in a lot of colleges. The campus itself has a creative and diverse crowd with regular events, seminars, workshops, and a great environment for extracurricular activities and exposure. Scholarships are limited but are awarded on various basis like merit, need, defence wards, etc.
