Q:   How is CGPA calculated at NIFT, Hyderabad?

A:

The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) at NIFT, Hyderabad, is found by how well every individual does in their classes and extracurricular activities. The exact formula used to calculate CGPA may differ significantly between institutions, the following provides a general overview of how it is commonly done:
Each course at NIFT is given a specific number of credit hours, which corresponds to the value or weight of the course relative to the rest of the curriculum and serves as the course's grade point. A student receives a grade point for each course based on how well they perform in that particular course. With matching grade points for each grade, the grading scale frequently goes from A+ (the highest) to F (fail).

Credit Hours: The number of credits allotted to a course is multiplied by the grade it receives. The weighted grade points for each course are calculated via this formula.

Total Credit Hours: Through aggregating the credits obtained for each course completed by the student., one can calculate the total number of credits they have accrued over a given semester or academic year.

Total Weighted Grade Points: The sum of the weighted grade points for each course yields the total weighted grade points for a semester or academic year.

Calculating the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) entails dividing the total weighted grade points by the total number of credits received. The average grade point for the specified time period is the outcome.
