Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship
This scholarship is the most popular one, merit cum means based scholarship for the students of West Bengal. This scholarship involves a monthly of rupees 8000 (eight thousand rupees) to the selected scholarship candidates. This amount is being provided by the government of West Bengal. The candidates have to apply till the last date of application
Conditions applied:
Must be a resident of West Bengal.
The applicant must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 10th.
The applicant must have scored a minimum of 75% marks in class 12th.
The candidate must have a minimum of 55% marks in their graduation (engineering).
If the candidate is at the P.G. level then 53% marks minimum required.
The annual income of the family should not exceed 2.5 lacs.
Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship
This scholarship has been offered by the Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata.
This is an every year plan where students can apply once the portal open for it. The Bigyani Kanya Medha Briti Scholarship is only applicable to the GIRL students. This scholarship is applicable for all girls currently pursuing an under graduation in engineering/science/medicine.
The aim of this scholarship is to empower women, promote education rights and conserve their talent.
The selected candidates will get a monthly of rupees 3000 scholarship amount.
Conditions applied:
i) The candidate must have the domicile of West Bengal, who are belonging from SC/ST/OBC category.
ii) Students studying in 10th, 12th, graduation or post graduation level are only eligible for this scholarship program.
iii) The annual family income should not exceed 2.5 lacs. (for SC and ST).
iv) The annual income for OBC families should not exceed 1 lac.
