In order to get into PhD courses at TAPMI Manipal, candidates must have completed a master’s degree of a minimum of two years or any equivalent degree from an institution/university recognised by UGC/respective regulatory body. TAPMI Manipal accepts applications for PhD via mail. Interested students are required to provide the duly filled application form and a few other documents to apply for PhD. Listed below are steps to apply for PhD at TAPMI Manipal:

• Fill in all the details mentioned in the form
• Scan and attach it in the mail (the mail id is updated on the PhD admissions page of institute's official website)
• Along with the application form, also attach educational certificates from bachelor’s degree onwards, details of your work experience, an updated CV, and a research proposal.
• The proposal should be of 5-7-page (roughly 2500-3000 words) describing the area of research interest and the broad problem that a student intends to work on during the doctoral programme.
  The proposal should contain a proper explanation of why this problem is interesting to study and any methodology the student intends to follow. This proposal should be formatted using Arial font in 11-point size, 1.5 line spacing, 1” margins on all sides, and bottom page numbering.

TAPMI Manipal PhD scholarships are awarded to qualified doctoral students for a maximum of four years. However, the scholarships are subject to students’ meeting all requirements and recommendations of the concerned committee. Students who are rewarded with fellowship are provided with a full waiver of tuition fees, a monthly stipend of INR 35,000 for the first two years, and INR 40,000 for the next two years.

PhD at TAPMI Manipal requires submission of research work done during the stipulated course duration of four years. Before the end of the first twelve months i.e. at the start of the fourth year, the full-time scholar will be required to prepare a comprehensive research proposal and detailed plan. This research is to be done under the guidance of the allocated guide (s) and doctoral committee members (DAC). This research work would have to be presented to a specially constituted committee at the Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Considering the past three years cutoff percentile, there is high chances that a student can get a call from TAPMI with 80 percentile in CAT. However, final admission will be based on CAT/ XAT cutoff score, followed by candidates' performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
