In Humanities and Social Science subjects,  there are more theoretical aspects that need to be learned and analysed. Simply the reason why there are higher studies and students can do research work through programmes such as -

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

The core subjects are usually the same. Though the electives differ. Some of the major ones taught are - English, History, Psychology, Political Science, Philosophy, Social work, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Rural Studies, and more. Bachelor of Arts is a 3 year program. It can be pursued full-time, part-time, or through distance learning.
