Easy tips to prepare for BITSAT

Chalk out a plan to cover all the topics and thoroughly revise each subject to crack the competitive exam.
BITS is one of the renowned names when it comes to the best private institute for engineering in India. BITSAT is the only exam that opens the gate for entry in the BITS campuses. BITS has mainly three campuses in India - Pilani, Hyderabad and Goa. This article will discuss how to get into these colleges in such a tough competitive environment.
First of all, the total number of questions in this exam is 150 which are divided into five broad categories:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- English
- Logical Reasoning
There are 40 questions in Physics, 40 in Chemistry, 45 in Mathematics, 15 Questions in English and 10 in Logical Reasoning. The time duration for this exam is three hours or 180 minutes.
The students need to develop speed to solve most of these questions in the minimum time possible as the questions are easy, however, the solutions are lengthy. Therefore, students should practise mock test series just before a month from the scheduled date of the exam or after completing the syllabus. Try to solve as many test papers as possible and finish the same in the prescribed time frame to enhance speed. During these tests, analyse the weak topics, remember the mistakes, and ensure that these mistakes are not repeated in the next mock tests.
While solving these papers/tests, one would know the scoring topics of the subjects. This would help students in preparing for the exam accordingly. The most scoring topic of Physics is Mechanics, from this part, one could find around 10-12 questions in the exam. Similarly, the important topics for Mathematics and Chemistry are Algebra and Physical Chemistry and Mole Concept respectively.
During the preparation time, try to revise the concepts weekly studied in the previous week. This would help in getting a good hold on the subject.
While preparing for competitive exams, the students should focus on board exams as well. They should prepare for both the exams simultaneously. In almost all the engineering competitive exams, 75% marks in boards are mandatory with a minimum of 60% marks in each subject, only then one would be able to get admission in their desired college after clearing the BITSAT exam. Hence, the students need to maintain a balance and create a plan to prepare for both the exams simultaneously.
