Complete dedication and determination is required for achieving high scores in a highly competitive environment of an entrance exam.
Correct Study Material
KCET is easier as compared to JEE Main. However, the students should prepare for each exam with complete focus. Every paper is a combination of easy, medium and hard level. Thus, cracking KCET could only be possible if one has the correct study material and give proper time for revision. When I gave the KCET exam, I noticed that the syllabus of the exam was similar to the Class 12 board exams. However, the pattern of the KCET is different as it is an entrance exam. The best reference books that I also referred to prepare for KCET exam was NCERT for all the subjects, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Examination Structure
KCET has been following an examination structure which is easy to understand for all the students. In the KCET exam, there are 180 Multiple Choice Questions with total time duration of 210 minutes for all the sections including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. In my opinion, the time allotted to the students is sufficient to score well, however, one needs to focus on time management as well to attempt more questions in the limited time. To crack the exam, the students need to properly understand the syllabus completely and thorough revision of each topic.
Focus points (Highest Scoring topics)
KCET focuses on all types of skills which could be understood easily by analysing the different level of questions. Thus, few topics covered by KCET in detail are:
Mathematics: Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, Permutation and Combination, Binomial Theorem, Sets, Matrices, Application of Integrals and Statistics
Physics: Wave, Force, Oscillation and Gravitation
Chemistry: Block Elements, Basic Concepts of Chemistry and Thermodynamics
Biology: Human and Plant Physiology, Plant Anatomy and Morphology
Revision Approach/Study Plan
Revision is the key to crack any exam with high scores. When I gave this exam, I knew that getting ahead of everyone else was not so easy especially in such a short period. Moreover, achieving high scores in an entrance exam in a highly competitive environment requires complete dedication and determination. Hence, every student must focus on completing the syllabus on time and thoroughly revise each topic to score well. Further, preparation becomes easier if time is managed properly. Give mock tests, practise sample papers and previous ten years question papers of KCET to crack the exam with high scores.
