B.E. / B.Tech	Candidate must have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer with the mentioned marks in aggregate from a recognised Institute/ University.
M.E./M.Tech	Candidates must have passed qualifying examination or equivalent examination as prescribed by the Competent Authority and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks (45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates) taken together in all the subjects of all the years/ semesters of the Degree Examination from any recognised institute/university. Final year students can also apply on provisional basis. Candidates must have valid GATE score.
MBA/PGDM	Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks (45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). Final year students can also apply on provisional basis.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

Pursuing a BE course from RV College of Engineering is a good choice in terms of placements.. The number of offers made to BE batch 2026 was 698. The number of companies that participated in BE placements 2025 was 192. Highest and average salary grabbed by BE batch 2026 was INR 67 LPA and INR 16.86  LPA. 

The University has not released the placement percentage. Placement are ongoing for Class of 2026. As of now, 297 recruiters participated and placed 1243 students with decent salaries.

Admission to all the programs offered at the University is entrance-based. Admission to Bachelor of Engineering program is based on KCET/ COMEDK UGET/ JEE Main exam, Bachelor of Architecture admission is based on NATA exam. The qualifying exams for admission to Master of Engineering is Karnataka PGCET/ GATE. Candidate must clear Karnataka PGCET exam for admission to Master of Computer of Application.
