CMJ University was established in 2009 by an Act of the Meghalaya State Legislature under the CMJ University Act, 2009. The university is known to provide various facilities to students, such as a library, a hostel, transport, and others. Admissions to NEHU Shillong is offered on the basis of merit and valid scores of accepted entrance exams. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 for admission to UG level courses. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, CAT/MAT/AIMA and other national-level examinations suitable for the chosen course.  

To get a seat at IHM Shillong, student must have a rank of 5188 or above in the NCHMCT JEE. IHM Shillong offers admission to B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, on the basis of NCHMCT JEE scores. The rank given is as per the round 1 cutoff list, for the General AI category, which has been released recently.
