Established in 1987 by an ordinance of the Bihar Government, Nalanda Open University is a reputable distance-learning institution. It is recognised by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), UGC and the Ministry of HRD. Their objective is to provide distance education to people who are unable to pursue a formal education, those who reside in remote locations, and working professionals who wish to further their education.
