Job of a TV Reporter is Challengeing and Full of Adventure

Career as a TV reporter may excite a lot of young enthusiastic people but it has its own challenges and rough phases as well. India has made a significant growth in almost every sector and media is indeed one of them. Earlier there used to be very few news channels with gave limited career scope for TV reporters. This scenario has now completely been transformed; today you would find chains of National News channels from Hindi, English to Regional Languages. This has boosted great career opportunities for TV reporters or journalists. News channels prefer to take TV reporters who are hard working and outspoken.
The main task of TV reporter is to present news to the viewers in a right format. This is the world of TRP and all the news channels are competing aggressively for TRP rating. The channel with high TRP has a wide audience and runs in profits and vice-versa.
The game of TRP has made the job of TV reporters even more challenging and there is a constant pressure on them to deliver the best of their abilities. They need to work under deadline pressure and put lot of efforts to increase TRP of their show. A reporter who brings TRP to the show gets lot of appreciation and incentives from his/her company. To be a successful TV reporter it is imperative to do Journalism course from a prestigious college only. You could go for a three year degree or diploma in mass communication.
It is very important for any TV reporter to be confident while facing and talking in front of the camera. He/she must possess good communication skills and learn to speak in an impressive manner.
There is a hierarchy system followed in the Indian media. You start from trainee reporter, to a correspondent, then a chief correspondent after that a special correspondent and so on. To become an editor it is important to be a reporter in most of the cases. The entry level salary for the Government media professionals is supposed to be around Rs. 8K to Rs. 12K. Where as in private media channels the entry salary could be around Rs. 20K to Rs 30K.
