Our college provides a great course curriculum but has average placements.
Placements: Placements for journalism are not provided in our college. Media related companies don't visit for placements. Only advertising and PR course have placements. I suggest that don't depend on the college for placements if you are a journalism student.
Infrastructure: You don't get hostels in XIC. However, PGs are very easily available, and the college will provide a number of PGs. The infrastructure of our college is amazing, and the classrooms are spacious and well-equipped. Our college has two campuses, and one is in Xavier's college, while the other one is in Xavier High School, which takes 5 minutes to reach by walk. Classes are held alternately every month at every campus.
Faculty: Our college has the best faculty members. Journalists with an experience of more than 20 years will teach students here. Most of the modules provided are worth it, and you will learn a lot from the teachers. The course curriculum is completely relevant. Modules are insightful except a few, which might be irrelevant.

Other: It is one of the best places to be in. In terms of learning as well as character building, it teaches you a lot. Faculty consists of industry professionals who give an insight of what exactly the market is doing and how an individual can grow. One of the best places for a media professional at his/her early stages.

Q:   What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Xavier Institute of Communications?
A:
  1. First thing I would like to say that congratulations now you are feeling that you are on the top of the world but no you have to maintain 75% attendance otherwise you will loose 5marks which is very crucial.
  2. Stay away I repeat stay away from the people who wants you to join 'lobby' . If you like politics and quarrels then okay otherwise stay away from it.
  3. In Xavier's there will be enemies more than friends so choose wisely.
  4. Don't forget your id card ever.
  5. Make good friends enjoy the college life but don't forget to attend classes.
  6. Don't be the class CR few you don't want to get involved in lobbies.
  7. Xavotsav is really very attracting I know but trust me it's worth your time and money and respect. People loose their self respect to get posts in xavotsav it's not at all worth it.
  8. Must try canteen ka coffee. :)
  9. Try to take down all the notes given in the class and before semester try to arrange all other classes notes and study those mainly you will get good marks.
  10. Don't trust anyone blindly and don't run behind the posts of xavotsav.
  11. Carry your self and be confident. Fathers are really good if you are not breaking any rules like that.
