Mystory@ChandrakantaGinodia: How I chose my course and college
I did my 10+2 from Delhi Public School Varanasi. I took Commerce stream with Maths as my subjects in XI-XII. I was clear about choosing Mathematics as I found the subject very interesting and enjoyed it the most. But then I was equally sure that I am definitely not going to take up Science as it interested me the least. So I was basically left with Commerce or Arts to be taken along with Maths. I was a bit confused but then I tried to understand what these two streams have to offer.I then had discussions with my seniors, elder cousins, teachers and parents. After a lot of brainstorming I came to the conclusion that its Commerce that I want to go with. And it was back then that I also made up my mind to pursue MBA in future.
And as planned, I first completed school with Commerce stream in 2013. That very year I got admission in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for pursuing BCom. I completed BCom Hons in Finance in 2016, and finally in the same year got admission into Institute of Management Studies, BHU for MBA.

How I cracked college admission
As I had the clarity back in school that I wanted to pursue MBA, I started preparing for the entrance exam in my graduation second year itself. I had to appear for CAT in November 2015 so I joined IMS for coaching classes in January 2015 when I was in graduation 4th semester. It contributed a lot in whatever I could achieve. At my end I tried to be regular with my preparations and also made it a point that I didn't miss any concept class at IMS. I also tried solving all the material that was available from coaching and also other aptitude books that I had arranged.I appeared for CAT and CMAT. The colleges which I had applied for were K J Somaiya, IRMA, IIFM, and IM BHU, among others. But my main focus was IM BHU and ultimately, I was able to convert its call.
My college experience
Being at IM BHU is an amazing experience. Our time at college is not just limited to attending classes, it has so much more to offer.Along with studies we are engaged with something or the other. For instance, right now we are busy preparing for our annual fest Ransangram 3.0, and there is so much learning from the same along with lots of fun.The fest is inviting participation from B-schools across India and does not just include academic events but has fun events as well. Before this we were busy preparing for BHUMAA National Alumni Meet, and it was a great learning with amazing experience and tremendous exposure. These are just few to mention.
Classes are not the same boring lectures, but are very innovative and always have something new to offer. Having done graduation with Finance (hons), financial management and accounts are the classes which interest me the most, but otherwise also there is no class which I find boring or I don't feel like attending. Our students club Kalpavriksha keeps on organising something or the other for us like speeches, case studies, extemporeetc, which are much needed for our personality development. We also had literary, cultural and sports fests Unnayan and Pratispradha and it was again a great learning experience and a lot of enjoyment.
Being in our university campus is an altogether different experience. And the peace and serenity one witnesses at the ghats is unparalleled. There is so much to learn and to enjoy, every minute spent feels totally worth it.
