By: Neha Dash
Work on the weak areas, practise the important topics and most importantly prepare for the exam with complete focus and diligence.
How to deal with the failure
One thing every student should keep in mind is that scoring low in any competitive exam is not the end of the world. One way to deal with the disappointment of the exam is to talk to others like your family, seniors, friends, etc. and explore ways you should take now.
In case the scores are not as per your expectations then do not get disappointed instead, apply for other entrance exams to get admission in the college.
How to shortlist good MBA colleges that accept different percentile ranges
The students should know that the MAT scores are considered by other colleges as well. Hence, they should apply for other colleges. For example, the May exam's MAT 2020 score would be valid for MBA / PGDM Admission 2020 at more than 300 MBA colleges across India. In Delhi, nearly all reputed B-schools like Jims, NDIM, Jaipuria, in Bangalore like Indus Business Academy and AIMS, in Pune, colleges like LEXICON MILE, IIMS and in Mumbai, colleges like IES, VESIM accepts MAT scores for admission in different courses.
Go through the college website and search for alumni interviews. This would help in knowing the personal experience of various students. The students should shortlist colleges by visiting their websites and analysing their faculty base, student feedbacks, placements, etc. This would help in widening the options for admission if the scores are low.
Suggestions on increasing the score
The best way to maximise your score is to practise as much as possible. The more you practise the more accurate you would become. This would help in boosting confidence level and enhancing speed and accuracy. Stay calm and answer the questions that you are confident about. Avoid wasting time on a difficult question, instead, move on to the next one. The students should focus on attempting all the questions that they know as this would help in saving time.
The MAT exams are conducted four times a year. Therefore, the students should not worry in case they could not clear the exam in the first attempt. After one failed attempt, start working for the next MAT exam. Read newspapers daily, practise aptitude questions regularly and revise the chapters to crack the exam. Practise every day to enhance the confidence level. Stay calm and focus during the preparation and work towards achieving high scores in the exam.
