Tips & tricks to crack placement interviews

Tips and tricks regarding placement can largely vary based on the type of placement, company and the individual attending the interview. The things that I would do, including research and studying the company before attending the interview. It doesn’t mean you have to memorise the whole history of the company. Just try to keep in mind a few important details. Also, it is good for the candidate to have some basic knowledge of the economy and current business situations no matter what domain they are interested in. There is a chance that some companies might ask you to explain the current business scenario briefly.

Also, wear formals and try to be in light colours. Always take a seat inside the room when the panel asks you to. Do not go and straightaway take your seat.

The most important of all, do not panic. Stay calm and strong. The moment the panel realises that you are tensed or restless, they will lose interest in you because they might be looking for a student who is confident and bold enough to handle tough situations in an organisation. Do not give them the impression that you are incapable of handling their operations. Some panelists might even pressure you to just to see if you crack. Stay absolutely calm and answer their questions slowly. It is ok even if you take three seconds to think. The last thing, always speak out the truth. If you don’t know something that they ask you then it is ok to say no. After all, the whole point of an interview, according to my opinion, is the ability to stay calm and composed no matter what they ask you.

Facilities provided by the college placement cell

Rajagiri Business School does have a placement cell. They coordinate all the activities related to placements and provide some assistance to the students regarding the placements. They also provide them with some links for mock tests related to aptitude, communication skills, etc.

Keep this in mind

Finally, I would like to remind everyone that lying on your resume is not a good option. Even if you don’t have that much to write on your resume, do not write false information. Some companies might ask you questions from your own resume. If you are not able to explain them then you will clearly get exposed. On the other hand, if you are able to explain each and everything on your resume very clearly and fluently, it would be an added advantage.
