Established in 2018, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Nagpur (also known as AIIMS Nagpur) is recognised as the 'Institute of National Importance'. It is one among the four institutes established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Nagpur AIIMS is an autonomous institute and has also been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH). 

Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur has below criteria for taking admissions to it's various courses:

B.Sc.	Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent qualification from a recognised board.
UG Diploma	Candidate must have passed 10+2 with Science stream from a recognised board.
PG Diploma	In order to become eligible for counseling, candidate must have obtained minimum 50 percentile for General category (40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC) and 45 percentile for UR PWD) in NEET PG.
MBBS	Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained mentioned percentage taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. In respect of PwBD candidates as per NMC and DCI Regulations, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 40% instead of 50%. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from Open School or as private candidates shall not be eligible to appear for theNational Eligibility Cum Entrance Test'. However, this has been a subject matter of challenge before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, Hon'ble High Court of Allahabad, Lucknow Bench, and Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur The lower age limit is 17 years on or before 31st Dec of the year of admission (born on or before 31.12.2006) Result awaited candidates can also apply.
