Cancelled ICAI CA Inter Exam Paper 5 to be held on January 31
ICAI CA Intermediate January exam, Paper 5, which was cancelled, has been rescheduled on January 31, 2026. ICAI has announced the new date.
ICAI will conduct the CA Inter Paper 5 on January 31, 2026. The examination was cancelled across all test centres in India and abroad. The ICAI CA Intermediate Paper 5 was originally scheduled on January 15, but was postponed to January 19 due to Municipal Cooperation election in the state of Maharashtra. The ICAI, announced on January 17, cancellation of due to unforeseen reasons.
“In continuation of the Institute’s Important Announcement dated 17th January 2026, it is hereby announced for general information that the postponed Chartered Accountants Intermediate Examination, Group II, Paper – 5, Auditing and Ethics will now be held, across India and Abroad on January 31, 2026,” says the notice released today.
For CA Inter January 2026, Paper 5, admit card released earlier will be valid. The exam will be held at the same time and same test centres as announced previously.
CA Foundation January 2026 exam started on January 18 and its remaining four papers will be held as scheduled – January 20, 22 and 24.
Students can apply for recording observations related to CA Final, Intermediate, Foundation and Post Qualification Course - INTT-AT & IRM Examinations question papers of January 2026 exam session, by e-mail or speed post till January 27, 2026. Registrations for CA May 2026 exam - Foundation, Inter, Final - will begin from March 3.

The ICAI provides facility of marks verification to candidates. CA Intermediate students who wish to get their answer copies reevaluated, by applying through marks verification process. The window to apply for marks verification is opened a day after the result announcement.

· Click on marks verification option
· Login with user ID and password
· Choose CA Inter paper(s) for marks verification
· Upload a scanned copy of your handwritten request
· Pay the requisite fee and submit the form

Yes, the candidates can apply for scorecard verification after the result announcement. The facility is available for all three course levels. The window for rechecking of a particular CA course opens a day after announcement of the result. Candidates can apply for scorecard verification within a month of result announcement along with a demand draft of INR 200 in favour of the Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, payable at New Delhi. The fee is non-refundable and the result of rechecking will be final. Students can’t apply for rechecking more than once.
