AKTU, MNNIT sign MoU to promote academic, research collaboration
The MoU was signed in the presence of Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra, vice-chancellor, AKTU and Professor Rama Shanker Verma, director, MNNIT, for academic and research collaboration in the areas of mutual interest.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has collaborated with Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Paryagraj. The partnership has taken place by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on July 25, 2022. The institutes has come under academic and research collaboration in the areas of mutual interest.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra, vice-chancellor, AKTU and Professor Rama Shanker Verma, director, MNNIT, for academic and research collaboration in the areas of mutual interest.
According to AKTU V-C, under this collaboration, the two institutions will look for joint PhD supervision, semester study permission for integrated master and PhD candidates, exchange of startups, students and faculty, sharing of research-based equipment to facilitate pilot testing validation as per the norms, collaboration in developing incubation centre for inculcating entrepreneurship among the students.
This MoU will enable the students and faculty members to access research facilities at AKTU.
A joint PhD programme will be offered to candidates in the field of mutual interest, and semester study permission for integrated masters and PhD candidates will be granted, as per the rules.
Meanwhile, AKTU is also in the process of updating its BTech curriculum as per the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020). The formulated curriculum will include multiple exit options like a diploma, BTech minor degree and honours degree along with a regular degree with a choice-based credit system, according to vice-chancellor Professor Pradeep Kumar Mishra.
Mishra said there would be BTech Honours, BTech minor, BTech regular and BTech that allows students to exit after completion of three years. The varsity is making the changes in the curriculum under the NEP-2020. The decision was taken at the board of studies meeting held earlier this month.
