As per a report released by Praja Foundation, an NGO, the BMC-run schools saw a 6% growth in student enrollment during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The student enrollment figures released by the Praja Foundation, an NGO, in a white paper on the state of municipal education in Mumbai show that the BMC-run schools witnessed a 6% growth in student enrollment during Covid 19 pandemic.
“The data shows an increase in enrollment at civic schools compared to private unaided schools, which have been preferred by urban parents over the years. However, the financial crisis witnessed during the Covid-19 pandemic, is the primary reason for this shift and we anticipate that the enrollment numbers will experience a decline again in the next year’s report,” said Milind Mhaske, CEO of Praja Foundation, as reported by Indian Express.
