In order to ease the pressure on students, the Board will reduce the number of subjects for students to write examinations.
Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has sent a proposal to the state education department to reduce the number of subjects to three this year instead of six in the Assam HS exams 2021. This move is made to ease the pressure on students during the coronavirus pandemic.
The state health department may soon give its nod to conduct Assam HS, HSLC exams 2021 because of the improvement in the pandemic situation.
Similarly, the Assam HSLC exams 2021 may also be conducted for five main subjects leaving aside the sixth elective subject.

The question papers are in safe custody. These will be sent to the concerned exam centres soon after getting approval.”
The State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu informed that the state is firm on conducting exams. “The final decision on the conduct of the state board exams will be taken in a day or two,” he said.
The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) expressed its readiness to conduct the Assam HSLC exams within 15 days of the COVID-19 situation returning to normal.
