With coronavirus cases rising at an increasing rate, thousands of students preparing for board examinations are demanding cancellations of offline papers or a postponement for now.
Amid rising COVID cases, thousands of students who are preparing for 10th, 12th board examinations are demanding cancellations of offline papers or a postponement for now. While many suggest replacing upcoming board exams with online assignments, others have demanded to conduct the board exams in an online mode. Commenting on articles on Shiksha.com and taking to Twitter, students have registered their protest using hashtag #cancelboardexams2021.
CBSE began conducting the CBSE 10th, 12th practical exams on March 1. The board has allowed the schools to hold the exams till June 11 while taking all the precautions. The Board will hold special examinations for students who are affected due to COVID and are unable to appear for practicals. These will be conducted at a later date but before June 11.
Maharashtra Board may postpone the conduct of Mah HSC, SSC examinations 2021 due to rise in COVID cases. Students in the state are demanding the cancellation of Maharashtra SSC, HSC board examinations 2021. Students, parents and teachers are worried about the risk that the pandemic poses. The board has decided to cancel Class 9, 11 exams 2021 and promote the students.
Amid rising COVID cases, various states have started closing down their schools again. Schools in Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Puducherry, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh have been shut for junior classes to contain the spread of COVID19. Delhi has begun with the new academic session in the virtual mode.
Students are requesting Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal to postpone the CBSE board exams. Some of the students are requesting the conduct of exams in the online mode.
In a similar way, students of class 10th, 12th from various states and UTs are demanding the cancellation of board exams. They complain that the studies were conducted in the online mode for the entire year and it would be unfair to conduct exams in offline mode. Many say that online classes were not helpful at all, etc.
Bihar is the only state that has already conducted BSEB 10th, 12th board exams 2021 and announced their results.
