CBSE will use internal assessment and practical exams to evaluate and promote Class 10 students, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said.
CBSE 10th board exam 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will use internal assessment and practical exams to evaluate and promote Class 10 students to the next grade, informed the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal after announcing the cancellation of CBSE 10th exams 2021 and postponement of Class 12th exams in the wake of rising COVID19 cases. The update on CBSE 12th date sheet 2021 will be provided after reviewing the situation on June 1.
The CBSE 10th Result 2021 will be prepared on the basis of an “objective criterion”, which will be developed by the CBSE, the minister said. Explaining the “objective criterion”, he said that CBSE will develop a system to promote Class 10 students, which will use internal assessments and practical exam marks. However, CBSE has so far not announced any scheme for evaluation.
Any student who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
This decision of announcing the result on the basis of ‘objective criterion’ has evoked mixed reactions from students, teachers and educationists. They have asked CBSE to develop a ‘fair criteria’ to grade students.
Students preparing for CBSE 12th exams must watch this space to stay updated on the release of new exam schedule. To score well, it is important that they solve and practice the previous years’ question papers. This will make them familiar with the exam pattern and marking scheme too.
