- Give at least one hour to English daily
Students often take English for granted and end up scoring low marks. They must understand that this subject will help them increase their overall percentage. It is strongly recommended that students give a minimum of one hour to English per day. Utilize this one hour in reading extensively. Remember that it will not only help to cover the chapters but also improve the reading skills. Not just this, but it will also enhance the student’s vocabulary and improve their writing skills.
- Solve the CBSE 12th Previous years’ Question Papers
Students must solve the previous years’ CBSE Class 12 question papers to know the difficulty level of the question papers. Not just this, but by solving the previous years’ sample papers, they will be able to know which section carries the highest marks.
- Choose the Right Books
Students must use the right books for the preparation of exams. They must finish going through the NCERT textbooks for the subject. Some of the best books which students must refer to while taking the CBSE English exam are:
- Flamingo
- Vistas
- Language Skills book - Class XII English Elective published by CBSE, Delhi.
- Literature Reader - Class XII English Elective published by CBSE, Delhi.
Reference Books for CBSE Class 12 English Grammar
- Wren and Martin High School grammar
- A Practical Guide to English Grammar (Paperback) by K. P. Thakur
- Silas Marner Class-12 1st Edition (Paperback) by K. S. Paul
- Learn the art of answering in a creative way!
While answering the questions in the literature section, students must try to give their bit to the answers. Answering the questions with the student’s perspective, ideas yet keeping the essence and context of the answer at the same will help in scoring well. This comes with voracious reading. Therefore, students are advised that apart from the course, they must read the novels and the literature pieces of their interest and enhance their vocabulary and writing skills.
- Manage time effectively
Students need to note that the CBSE English paper is extremely lengthy. Therefore, managing time efficiently is of utmost importance. They are advised to quickly go through the question paper in the 15 minutes time provided for reading. Students must read the ‘Reading section’ in the question paper in the first 10 minutes and understand the passages and related questions well. In the rest five minutes, they are advised to go through the questions of the literature section. This will help in managing the time efficiently while appearing for the exams.

Some universities may require additional tests or qualifications beyond the SAT exam, while others may place less emphasis on standardized tests and look more closely at other aspects of an applicant's academic record and extracurricular activities. Additionally, some universities may have specific requirements for international students who have completed their secondary education outside of the country in which the university is located. It is important to research the admission requirements for the specific universities you are interested in applying to and ensure that you meet all of the necessary qualifications. In general, having a strong SAT score can certainly improve your chances of being admitted to a university, but it is not the only factor that universities consider when making their admission decisions. Other factors, such as your academic record, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation, can also play an important role. Please upvote if it was helpful.
