Delhi School Summer Holidays 2025 from May 11

Delhi School Summer Vacation 2025: The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has released the official academic calendar for the 2025–26 session, outlining the schedule for summer and winter breaks, term dates, and admissions across government and government-aided schools in the national capital.

The new academic session began on April 1, 2025, and includes comprehensive details on holiday periods, teacher reporting dates, and timelines for both planned and non-planned student admissions.

Delhi School Summer Break from May 11 to June 30

As per the calendar, the summer vacation for Delhi schools will begin on May 11, 2025, and continue until June 30, 2025. Teachers are expected to report back on June 28 to prepare for the resumption of classes. The break is expected to provide a much-needed respite for students and staff amid the intense Delhi summer.

Delhi School Winter Holidays to Start January 1, 2026

Winter vacation will be observed from January 1 to January 15, 2026. The autumn break will fall between September 29 and October 1, 2025, offering a short mid-term pause for schools before the start of the festive season.

Delhi School Admissions Schedule 2025–26

The academic calendar also includes a detailed admission timeline for various classes:

  • Planned admissions for Classes VI to IX: From April 1 to June 30, 2025
  • Non-planned admissions: Three separate cycles with specific registration and verification dates
  • RTE admissions (Classes VI to VIII): Open throughout the year at the individual school level, in accordance with the Right to Education (RTE) Act

This structured admission schedule is aimed at ensuring a smooth and transparent enrollment process for students and their parents.

Teacher Reporting and Operational Dates

Teachers will return to school before the end of summer break to prepare classrooms, lesson plans, and academic materials for the next phase of instruction. This advance reporting ensures schools are operationally ready to welcome students back after the holidays.

The DoE circular serves as a roadmap for the upcoming academic year, helping school authorities, educators, students, and parents align their plans with important dates. It reflects a strong focus on planning, efficiency, and adherence to educational mandates under the RTE Act.
