Q:   What happens if you fail in one subject in 10th ICSE board exam?
A:

In case you fail in one subject in the 10th ICSE board exam, you can appear for improvement exam for that particular subject. The only subject you have to compulsorily pass in ICSE 10th is English. If you fail in only one subject (other than English), you will get your pass certificate. Let us take an example. You pass in all subjects, but fail in English. Now, you won’t get your pass certificate and have to appear for supplementary exam. But, let us consider you pass in English, but failed in HCG only. You will get your pass certificate but will also be given a chance to appear for the improvement exam and improve your scores.

It's important to remember that failing in one subject doesn't define your abilities, and there are often opportunities to make up for it. Remember to stay positive and seek support from your teachers and school counselors.

Q:   What will happen to students who fail in ICSE board exam?
A:

In case a student fails the ICSE board exam, he/she will be allowed to appear for the improvement exam in only two subjects. If the marks meets the minimum criteria, he/she will be promoted else they will have to repeat an year.

Students are advised to go through the ICSE syllabus and know the ICSE exam pattern well. They must solve and practice the ICSE sample papers and previous years question papers to get familiar with the marking scheme, types of questions asked in the exam, difficulty level of exam and more.

Q:   What if I am not satisfied with my ICSE result?
A:

If you're not satisfied with your ICSE result 2026, please know that there are options available to you.

Firstly, you can check the official website of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) to see if there are any errors or discrepancies in your results. If you find any, you can contact the Council to have them corrected.

If you're still not satisfied with your results, you can consider applying for a re-evaluation or rechecking of your answers. This process will involve re-checking your answers by a team of experts to ensure that your marks are accurate.

Additionally, if you feel that your performance in a particular subject or subjects is not up to par, you can consider applying for a improvement exam. This will allow you to re-appear for the exam (s) in which you did not perform well, and improve your scores.

It's important to note that the ICSE IMprovement exam will only be available to those students who have not cleared the exam, and not to those who have passed but wish to improve their scores.

Finally, if you're not satisfied with your results even after re-evaluation, improvement exams, or any other options available, you can consider repeating class 10th. This will give you another opportunity to improve your scores and work towards a better future.
