Maharashtra Board may postpone the Mah HSC, SSC exams 2021, due to a surge in COVID19 cases in the state. The Education Minister had earlier confirmed that the board examinations will be conducted in offline mode.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has been mulling on the postponement of the Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exam 2021 due to the recent surge in COVID19 cases in the state. Although there has been no confirmation on this front, noted media reports have hinted that such a plan is under consideration looking at the worsening COVID19 situation across the state. However, the board is yet to announce the final decision on deferment of Maharashtra HSC, SSC Exams 2021.
Earlier, Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad also didn’t completely rule out the possibility of postponement of the Mah SSC, HSC Exams 2021. She hinted that a final decision will be taken this week itself after meeting various stakeholders and the state CM.
Addressing media, Gaikwad said that there are multiple plans under consideration regarding the conduct of board examinations. She said that as of now, details of Plan A have been shared with people which include SOPs, Guidelines, Extra Time, Home-Based Exam Centres, Second Additional Attempt for positive students etc. On similar lines, other plans are also being formulated such as contingency plans, which may be implemented in case the COVID19 cases continue to rise. She also said that apart from Maharashtra Board Exams 2021, the Education Department is also formulating plans to ensure smooth conduct of CBSE and ICSE Board Exams 2021 as well, which are scheduled to be held in the coming months.
