MBOSE in its notice has stated that NCERT (Meghalaya Edition) textbooks will be used for all subjects under the Secondary School Curriculum.
Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced that NCERT textbooks will be introduced for Class 10 from academic session 2025. Decision is part of a state government’s effort to align its school with National Curriculum Framework.
The board in its notice said that the NCERT (Meghalaya Edition) textbooks will be used for all subjects under the Secondary School Curriculum.
According to the notice, schools affiliated with MBOSE must shift to the NCERT-based syllabus for Class 10 and discontinue the older textbooks prescribed earlier by the board. The move covers subjects including Mathematics, Science, Social Science and English, bringing them in line with the structure followed in several other boards across the country.
The new textbooks have already been approved for Lower Primary and Upper Primary classes, with Class 10 now added to ensure uniformity across all levels. MBOSE has instructed schools to make necessary arrangements so students receive the revised textbooks before the start of the academic session.
The board has also released updated syllabus and sample papers for Class 10 based on the NCERT textbooks. The revised framework will apply to the 2025 examinations, and schools are required to follow the updated curriculum while preparing students for board assessments.
