Opportunity for Candidates to Extend Training
According to the official government notice, candidates who have already completed their initial six-month training period under MYKPY will now be eligible to extend their training for an additional five months. This move is expected to help enhance the employability of the youth by providing more time to develop their skills and experience.
MYKPY Scheme Overview
Launched in July 2024, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Karya Prashikshan Yojana was designed to improve the employability of young people in Maharashtra. The scheme offers practical training in various sectors, including industries, startups, and government establishments. Trainees receive a monthly stipend through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), depending on their educational qualifications:
- Class 12 pass: Rs 6,000 per month
- ITI/diploma holders: Rs 8,000 per month
- Graduates/postgraduates: Rs 10,000 per month
The government has allocated a budget of Rs 5,500 crore to implement the scheme, with an annual target of providing 10 lakh job training opportunities.
Eligibility and Registration Process
The MYKPY scheme is open to candidates aged 18 to 35 years, who must be residents of Maharashtra. Eligible candidates must have completed at least Class 12, ITI, diploma, graduation, or post-graduation. Interested candidates can apply through the official website: cmykpy.mahaswayam.gov.in.
Industries and establishments in Maharashtra can also register on the portal to offer training opportunities. To be eligible, companies must have been operational for at least three years and must be registered with EPF, ESIC, GST, DPIT, and Udyog Aadhaar.
Document Submission and Verification
As per the government’s instructions, both candidates and establishments must submit required documents within 30 days from the date of resolution. This will be done through the official portal. The Assistant Commissioner of Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship will verify these documents.
Candidates and establishments must also submit self-declaration certificates within 15 days of the candidate’s joining. The candidate’s declaration must confirm that they have never worked in the same establishment before and that they have no family relationship with the employer. Similarly, establishments must submit a declaration confirming that the candidate has never previously worked for them.
Post-Training Employment and Counseling Sessions
After completing their training period, establishments are encouraged to employ candidates. They are required to submit a post-training employment report to the district facilitation center. Additionally, monthly counseling sessions will be held at Industrial Training Centers (ITIs) to offer career guidance to the trainees.
The Assistant Commissioner will oversee these sessions, ensuring that candidates receive the necessary support in their career development. Upon completion of training, establishments must update the candidate’s profile on the official portal to keep the database of trained manpower current. The Commissioner of Skill Development, Employment, and Entrepreneurship will ensure that this feature is activated on the portal within one week.
