NIOS Regional Centre at Ranchi: National Institute Of Open Schooling (NIOS) has laid the foundation for its new regional centre at Ranchi in Bihar. The Chairman of NIOS, Professor Saroj Sharma attended the stone-laying ceremony on the new regional centre of NIOS. According to the reports, the vision behind building this new centre is to serve as a focal point for imparting flexible curriculum and skill-based study to learners. It will be providing education to students at secondary and senior secondary level.
NIOS shared the news regarding the new regional centre at Ranchi via its official Twitter handle, stating, “Today the most auspicious Bhumi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony of NIOS Regional Center Ranchi graced by the Prof. Saroj Sharma, Hon’ble Chairperson, NIOS;This Center would serve as a focal point for imparting flexible curriculum and skill-based study to learners.” Check the official tweet below:
Expressing gratitude towards the state government to allocate land to build the new centre, Professor Saroj Sharma said that “the new centre will help to expand the open education model to secondary and senior secondary level in line with the National Education Policy.”
She further said that the new centre would help to impart education to the marginalised sections of the society including migrant labourers, women, specially-abled people, unemployed, people in the reserved categories and other minority communities. The new centre would have a library, studio and other students-friendly centres.
Meanwhile, the registration for admission in NIOS 10th and NIOS 12th courses for 2021-22 session commenced from April 1, 2021. The Examination for these learners will be conducted in April 2022, as per the latest information by NIOS. Interested candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria in order to register for NIOS 10th and 12th. There is no upper limit for NIOS Admissions 2021-22.
