The Odisha government has decided to reduce the syllabus for classes 9 and 11 by 30% in view of COVID-19.

 Odisha school and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash has announced that the syllabus for Class 9 as well as BSE Odisha Class 10 has will be reduced for the current 2021-22 academic session due to the disrutions caused by COVID-19.

"Online classes are currently underway in the state due to the COVID-19 situation. However, it is not possible for each and every student to avail online education. Hence, we have decided to reduce the syllabus,” said the minister.

Last year also, the Odisha government had reduced the syllabus for classes 1-10 by 30% following the closure of schools and suspension of classes due to the pandemic. The government also promoted all the students up to class 9 and also of class 11 since holding examinations was not possible due to COVID-19 spread.

Meanwhile, Odisha Board 10th exams 2021 scheduled from May 3 to May 15, 2021, have been cancelled owing to COVID-19. The Odisha Matric Result 2021 will be prepared on the basis of an alternative assessment scheme and the result is expected to be out by the end of June.
