CBSE has also annnounced to introduce two sessions of Class 10 board exams from 2026.
Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has announced change in state’s school examination system. Starting from next academic session, Rajasthan Madhyamik Shiksha Board will conduct board examinations twice a year, giving students more chances to perform well and easing academic pressure.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), education minister described the initiative as a historic step for school education reform in the state. He wrote, “From the next academic session, the examinations of the Rajasthan Secondary Education Board will be conducted twice a year."
He further added that the first examination will be compulsory for all students, while passed and supplementary students will be able to take the second chance examination in a maximum of three subjects to improve their marks. Both examinations will be based on the entire syllabus, and the best scores of the students will be considered in the final result.
Dilawar also added that new arrangement would provide more opportunities for students, reduce exam stress, and help them achieve better academic results.
The board exam change also brings Rajasthan in line with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which will introduce two sets of Class 10 board exams from 2026.
The education department is expected to issue detailed guidelines on the new system in the coming months.
