
Vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative 2025, organized in partnership with CIET-NCERT, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and UN Global Compact Network India, welcomed over 250 attendees, including students, parents, and educators.
Vivo India has announced the winners of its third edition of ‘Vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative 2025’, a nationwide scholarship competition for students in grades 8 to 12. The national finale was held on June 15, highlighting impactful student innovations aimed at solving real-world problems. The initiative, organized in partnership with CIET-NCERT, IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, and UN Global Compact Network India, welcomed over 250 attendees, including students, parents, and educators.
Record Participation: Over 37,000 Students and 5,600 Project Ideas
This year’s Vivo Ignite saw over 37,000 registrations from 9,000+ schools across 660+ districts—double the previous year’s numbers. More than 5,600 ‘Tech for Good’ ideas were submitted by students. After a three-stage selection process that included regional shortlisting, prototype development, and a national finale, the top 10 projects were selected.
Top Winner: AI-Powered Criminal Detection System by Prateek Sethi
Prateek Sethi from Odisha won the first prize for his project “AI-Powered Criminal Activity Detection through Sensor-less Sensing.” This cost-effective, Wi-Fi-based system detects suspicious activity without using intrusive surveillance methods. He received a scholarship of INR 4 lakhs.

GRGS – Green Run for Green Souls by Safin Mallick, Sirsa Naskar, and Agamani Pandey (INR 4.5 lakh scholarship)
Arduino-Based LPG Gas Leakage Detection System by Kushaal Abhay, Vamshikha K S, and Dhriti Kannan (INR 3 lakh scholarship)
Trevive by Abeer Gosain (INR 75,000 scholarship)
National Finalists ranked 6–10 each received INR25,000 per student
Judging Criteria and Evaluation
Projects were evaluated by a jury of academicians and industry experts based on creativity, feasibility, scientific approach, cost-effectiveness, and social impact. The high quality and variety of projects reflect the success of the initiative in nurturing innovation at the grassroots level.
Grand Finale Hosted by Tech Guru Rajiv Makhni
India’s popular tech expert Rajiv Makhni hosted the event and engaged the audience with his signature energy. Special guests included:

Empowering Girls in STEM: Vivo KanyaGyaan
At the event, Vivo also recognized scholars from its ‘Vivo KanyaGyaan’ program—an initiative to support young women in STEM from underprivileged backgrounds. To date, the program has supported over 175 scholars, many from families earning below INR 1 lakh annually, and has helped several girls become first-generation graduates.
