Goa Institute of Management reopens campus amid declining cases of COVID-19
Taking extra precautions, a campus war-room has also been set up by GIM with adequate nurses and healthcare practitioners equipped with oximeters, isolation rooms, pharmacy and ambulance services round the clock.

Amid the declining cases of the novel coronavirus, the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) has opened the campus for students. According to the reports, the premiere B-school is all set to commence offline classes coupled with online sessions shortly.
Due to the devastating outbreak of the COVID-19 and restrictions imposed by the government in order to contain the virus spread, the management institute faculty and students had been interacting only through a virtual platform. However, students have now started returning to the splendid 50-acre campus in Sankhali. Approximately 300 students have already returned and more students are due to return in a phased manner in the upcoming weeks.
Sharing his views on commencement of offline classes and having students back on campus, Dr Ajit Parulekar, Director, GIM said, “In a management school, the core of learning happens within teams where the faculty and students exchange ideas, discuss and deliberate on it. We are delighted to have students back on campus.” He added, “From our end we are ensuring all SOPs are being maintained strictly. Our massive campus allows us to socially distance ourselves responsibly while also engaging with each other”.
The institute is reopening under strict COVID-19 protocols. Students and faculty who returned to campus have had to be fully vaccinated. Submission of vaccination certificate, negative RT-PCR test report and signed undertaking to follow quarantine norms as well as COIVD protocols prior to returning to campus is mandatory. On arrival, the B-school has also asked students to mandatorily quarantine themselves for seven days before venturing into the outdoors. Even after the quarantine period, students are not allowed to leave the campus or have visitors from outside enter into the campus to meet.
Taking extra precautions, a campus war-room has also been set up by GIM with adequate nurses and healthcare practitioners equipped with oximeters, isolation rooms, pharmacy and ambulance services round the clock.
