BHU students selected for French government scholarship

The scholarship is fully funded and sponsored by the Ministry of Education, France and it is mobilized by the French Institute, the Embassy of France in India. The selected students will get to spend a total of seven months in different cities in France working as language assistant with various public French schools and universities.

Three students of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) got selected for a French government scholarship. Bansari Thakkar (research scholar), Rose Thomas (MA, 4th semester) and Samriti Jaswal (MA, 4th semester), department of French Studies, have been awarded the prestigious Assistant d’anglais (English language assistant) scholarship 2023-24 of France.

As per the official release, the selected students will get to spend a total of seven months in different cities in France working as language assistants with various public French schools and universities. Earlier, a BHU research scholar named Saumya Singh got selected for United Nations (UN) training programme. She was one of the five candidates selected from over 100 participants from around the world to participate.
Meanwhile, in light of the UGC guidelines, Banaras Hindu University has set up a panel to deliberate on engaging students in various facets of the varsity. The panel chaired by the Dean of Students will study the best practices on student engagement available in other educational institutions of repute and identify opportunities and activities in which students may be effectively and proactively engaged. This exercise would aim to improve the ecosystem of the University, both with respect to curricular and co-curricular activities.
